It was just an example. As of right now, there is no country with both the desire and ability to invade the U.S. And if foriegn nationals are evacuated, that means you don't really need to worry about getting drafted do you?

I wasn't worried in the first place. As the start of the thread illustrates, merely replying to an exact quote with conflicting evidence.  :)

There was a fairly interesting novel by Eric L Harry (the guy also wrote Arclight, great novel of war with Russia that starts off nuclear due to diplomatic blunders) called Invasion (funnily enough) which deals with the US being invaded by China. Amusing war-porn but with a crap ending.

Well, after glancing over the first page of this thread, all I have to say is this:

Don't like it? Move. Can't complain about the rules of a country you are not a citizen of.

Again, the original post of the thread was in reply to a direct quote. I wouldn't have thought such a concept was so hard to grasp. I do like the "don't like it, move" argument though as it is something rarely used on these boards when discussing domestic policy.  ::)

ok,
so I misunderstood the situation then. Worst case scenario occurs and I can still get the hell out of dodge if necessary by returning home. But if I was a political refugee, criminal etc without a place to go back to, then I could find myself drafted, yes? ???
