Thank you guys!

I'm confident that the Scale 75 paints will open up a lot of new opportunities to do some cool stuff. I don't think I have a near by supplier, but I can always pull an order from their USA website and have it be here in a couple of days. Just got to do it ahead of time  ;).

Thanks for the Heads-up about the Ynnari, Mage, I'll definitely stick with craftworlds for the time being then when Phoenix Rising really starts going.

I'll keep you guys updated ;D!

New paint setup is steadily forming!!! Just need a little extra space to put my scale 75, which will happen soon once I get some more furniture in.

Scale 75 should be delivered Monday, along with the rest of the products I need to get started!!!

Nice painting spot! Let me know how that paint works. I'm still in the dark ages but if it ain't broke...with the impending banshee drop, I have come to the conclusion that I will keep my old paint scheme on them but update it a bit.

Wow! A plethora of paint and a tree to boot   ;D. Now fire that air brush up and get some paint flying. I really want to see how that paint works.

Durthu is still in Stage 1: So he's looking very incomplete right now.

Better Pic!!!

So, what can I tell you about Scale 75 Fantasy and Games Range?

1) These paints are much thinner than the regular Scale 75... don't need much to any shaking like their cousins, which you need to shake to death. You also need to barely thin them, since they're really thin enough.

2) Coverage. So, over a white undercoat, most of the colors will adequately cover in one or two coats maximum. It was actually kind of insane, because I was covering deep browns with faded greens, crimson with bright orange, etc. Of course, sometimes it takes a couple coats.

Also, I'm proud to announce that the mid-yellow color covered over the white primer in about one or two coats without a problem!

3) The metallics are gorgeous, but the most difficult part of the Scale 75 range that I bought. Layering them over a dark steel didn't really work too well. Neither did layering them over a flat black... might try the vallejo gloss black sometimes and see if that helps.

4) Inks are great so far! The only ink on Durthu at the moment is a mix of violet + chestnut brown ink, which is on the main color of the wood. The wood was a deep bruised red before, now it's a deep wooden brown, but still with a hint of that red beneath.

5) I applied all of this by brush and hand, since my airbrush is now out of commission again  :P.

If the metallics are really thin like GW's layer versions going over a light colour, rather than black.

There are a lot of rounded raised parts on the tree ancient, I really recommend dry brushing, I was super stocked with home well it worked on those models.

Those paints look pretty solid. The metallic on the swords, from what I can see, look pretty good. It all looks good tho. See ya soon.

Good call, Mage, the metallics go over lighter colors waaay better than darker ones, which surprises me really  ;D.

I'm also waiting on some brushes I'll be using for drybrushing to arrive either tomorrow or Friday. Apparently this certain kind of makeup brush is really good for drybrushing lol :P, never thought I'd order from a makeup store LOL ::).

Thanks, Dread! So the problem with the metallics on these particular models is because they're layered over a rough and somewhat uneven layer of corax white primer... Will be switching over to Grey Seer for the next batch, so they should definitely come out far better!

Looking good! I always like purple as a spot colour, but it works especially well with those tree guys.

I really like the way the skin tones have come out, nice work.

Yeah I've heard good things about dry brushing with make up brushes, since they are designed for blending lol. I just found a soft brush at the local hardware store, its small enough for big models and any size bases, its stood up to years of abuse :) Anything smaller I, just use an old brush.

Thanks, guys!!

My drybrushes and the rest of my supplies is coming in on Friday. Going to spend sometime to correct some mistakes on all of the Tree Revs.

Then I'll probably continue on with the highlights during the weekend.

Wish me luck! ;D

The banner bearer seems to have more depth that I can tell from the pics. I like them both tho.

The tree spell came out really nice, the brown on the trunk looks spot on.
