This is my first forum and my second post.
Am more of a gamer than a wielder of the key board, ( Took me all day to post images in the, Your Eldar Army, section). So please be patient with me because I'm really keen to enjoy every aspect of this forum and meet as many like minded individuals as possible. My name gives away my Craftworld. Looking forward to learn from you all, pass on some of my own knowledge and improve my computer skills..... Pointy ears forever!!

Welcome to 40K Online :).  As you're new to using the forum software in general, as well as to this forum, you may find some of the stickies helpful, notably A Beginner's Guide to 40K Online - READ ME (Updated for 2015).  Help with posting pictures can also be found in the stickies posted in the Painting board.

If you do have any questions by all means ask :).

Welcome to the forum Saim-Dann! I'm glad to see that you've come in and been made to feel at home straight away. I look forward to seeing some more of your painting and your planned terrain tutorials.

If you have any questions or need any help, it's a pretty friendly bunch here, so fire away!

Looshkin: Cheers, mate! Your reply is more than welcome. The painting of my Saim-Hann has been distracted by the idea of a terrain tutorial. Am halfway through it now. Crikey Moses! The creation of these snow terrains was easy. Explaining them, step by step is another thing all together. Look forward to more though..... after the next paint job post of course. Thanks again for your input, Looshkin. YOUR opinion means a lot..... Pointy ears forever!!

Sorry, I never answered the question about the screenwriting: I have a manager in LA and recently got my first proper credit - on a TV movie for the cable channel, Chiller. But the struggling part is that I've done tons of paid work on stuff that never eventuated; nature of the business and all... I would KILL to write a 40K movie. I have done some computer game work, and I volunteered on a fan-made 40K game thing too...

Man, I think any true 40k nerd would love a 40k movie lol. Congratulations on the writing credits. What was the movie called?

Yeah, it's called The Nanny. Nothing big, but hopefully a step to more for me. It was produced by the same guy who did Turbo Kid, which I absolutely love. And thanks so much for the kind words!

P.S. What did you think of Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie?

P.S. What did you think of Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie?
You mean the CGI movie they did a number of years ago where the had Dan Abnett write the screenplay and every 40k gamer geeked out over an actual 40k movie?

Well, I watched it, because I am a 40k nerd, and am really glad I managed to do so in a way that did not cost me money.  Although, I would like to find a way to get those hours back into my life...

Cool! If I have a chance, I'll be sure to check it out!

I thought Ultramarine was okay for what it was. Scratched that itch I had. But, more or less forgettable.

It'd be hard to make a movie that appeal to the fans, and also draw in a crowd who never heard of the game before. You'd require so much exposition.

See, that's part of what was so disappointing.  Abnett is my favourite 40k writer.  He is the most consistent in delivering compelling stories.  I mean, there is a reason Black Library started the Horus Heresy series of books by getting him to write Horus Rising.

He just didn't do that well as a screen writer.
