THe Hrud, which are as close as you get to Skaven, have had a few very poorly written fan-codeces, on this very board.
However, as so little is known about them (see sticky) then hit a big wall in trying to make them playable, and it usually falters on trying for a cohesive vision.

neither, skaven are so differant from anything else.
a swarm like orks or guard, with slave cannon fodder and all sorts of weird and wonderful weapons.
40k:
Eldar=12000pts
Slaanesh Deamons = 2000pts

Fantasy:
Slaanesh=5000pts
Wood Elves=6000pts
Slaanesh Deamons = 3000pts
High Elves 3000pts

i think orks would make the most sense also daemons are kind of like them how the codex is formated not the deep strike thing but by a fluff point of view it could be that the skaven have survived so long due to there expert teleportation technology so i think codex:daemons would be the right choice

No, the ork codex does not take into account the massive cowardice of the race, their eerie knack for making weapons of complete annihilation (and no, the shokk attak gun does not make up for it), or their teleporting ways.
The daemons  have nothing of the swarming nature of the Hrud, neither their cowardly ways.
I think it is a dead idea to be fair - proxying them with an existing list and doing them justice. You either proxy them or you do them justice with their own list.

Killersquid has used the Imperial Guard Codex to represent his Raterial Guard Skaven in 40k. If you want to check it out, ask him.

P.S. He's a Chaos board mod.

If I may, as an Orc player there are certain aspects of the Ork codex that does represent the cowardice of the Skaven. Namely the Gretchin come to mind. Now that's purely fluff because you would want your army to have the stats of the normal orks. You could always come up with a reason why certain skaven have certain wargear too, like the lootas. Maybe they just feel safe behind a hail of bullets coming out of the front of their guns. Personally I would love to see a Skaven in Mega-armor. (Also I know this thread hasn't been updated in over 30 days but it seemed like a good discussion.)

[gmod]No, not really. Please don't in the future. Rather than not updated in 30 days it's a thread over two years old.[/gmod]
