have you got any advise how you got your paint soo mooth and crisp over such large flat areas??

1/3 water 2/3 paint.  You also need a set of flat-head brushes.  I normally use a 0.5" brush for large areas.  For vehicles, like eldar's, 1/3" works better has there's too much area focus on 0.5" brush.  The whites of my vehicle are actually 9 coats of different grey-to-white thinned paints.  Astronomican Grey (foundation paint) is such an awesome piece of paint.

Ivellos:  Man, those tyranids make me feel like I should paint some of my own.  Those are awesome for WIP.

Thanks Dj-OF-E . With time each model jsut seems to get better and better. I actually took some pictures of my first mini I painted and then one of those gaunts side by side for comparison... its a HUGE difference with only a month in time at this hobby.

So much fun too:-P

Edited due to stupidity on my behalf.

I think you mean DJ of E instead of me i dont want to be seen to be stealing his thunder lol, although i do agree with him that your nids are looking good, quite a classic colour scheme too.

@DJ of E thanks, i didnt realise soo much work went into your extreme highlights no wonder they look so crisp and tidy

And thats 2 Genestealers Fixed, as two of the ones in the previous picture had different backs that I disliked, and 6 more done. So all my Genestealers are done, just termagaunts and hormagaunts left to finish up this month!

Even though I didn't place it as one of my vows, I rather post in these threads than to clutter up a separate thread for my WIP.  Hopefully I'll get the wings done as soon as possible.

Here's my whole WIP for the month.

I have officially completed my vow for this month.  I painted my Fantasy Troll, mega armored Nob, and my 5 trollkin Champions.

Tomorrow I'm also planning on painting two swamp gobber belows models, which I did not vow to do, but just thought I'd mention that.

Armies- W/L/D
Tau (2000 pt under construction: assembling & painting) 1/2/1
Space Marines 1800 Points: Dark Angels (under constructions: finish painting) 6/2/2

Madefactaque sanguine radix purpureo tingit pendentia mora colore.
The root soaked with blood tinges the hanging fruit with a purple color.

Also, here's my fieldable Masters of the Chapter unit, if I ever have a game large enough to justify them (click for larger image)

Blood claws are finally finished!  That's my vow for the month, y'all.  Took me three month to get those buggers done.
