Has anybody tried the liquid green stuff?
« on: July 4, 2017, 09:02:34 PM »
G'day all!
Has anybody had a crack at the liquid green stuff from GW? Is it better/easier than the putty version? Is it only for a particular purpose, different to the putty. I'm such a cheap scate that I don't want to waste eleven dollars on something that doesn't work for me. Hope you can help... Be well

It's brilliant, I think. Obviously it won't do for large repairs or filling large cracks, but it is very useful for filling thin cracks between seems prior to painting.

If you remember that you have it, that is, and don't just mistake it for yet another pot of paint... ::)

Hey bud. Yeah liquid green stuff is much easier to work with. However it often takes 2 attempts to fill in any serious gaps. I've found that I'll fill in a gap, let it sit overnight and it sort of contracts, requiring another thin layer of liquid green stuff.

However their are some jobs that only regular green stuff will fix. Especially if you are repairing like the ball joint on a guys arm or something.

Anyway good luck!

Cheers Cavalier!
Yeah; think I'll give it a shot. Am sure there will be a use for it somewhere. Maybe even a combo of them both... Maybe?

Hey!  Has anyone got experience of watering it down?  Mine came like putty, but I wanted to use at a more paint or wash like consistency on sanded/sculpted areas - does that work?

I've watered it down to get it to flow into small cracks and poor fitting areas. Takes 2-3 applications but sands good after drying. As for wide gaps not so much but can be used for tiny detail sculpting.
