Yes, but you must have one troop of wraithguard before you can have a wraithlord.  For example, if you have 2 squads of wraithguard, you may take two wraithlords (also two squads), if you only have one of wraithguard you may not take more than one wraithlord.

Which means in an Iyanden list you can never have more than 3 Wraithlords, compared to a vanilla list where you can never have    more...  than...   3....
Hang on a sec!

The advantage is that your Wraithlord anre troops rather than heavys, so deploy at different times, can count towards your compulsary troops choices etc.

and it also means it doesn't fill up your heavy support spots...you can still have reapers *drool* and support weapons, falcons and fire prism and such...but if you take a falcon or fire prism that would be very un-iyanden like...

So, actually, you can't have more than 2 wraithlords since you are limited to 4 troops...yes?

in a standard force organization chart there are SIX troops slots, 3 elites, 3 fast attack, 3 heavy and 2 hq.  therefore you can have THREE wraithlords.  does anyone know if harlie wriathlords count against this?

Nope, heheh, you can have another 3 harlequin wraithlords and fill up those elite spots.  Although I would take a solitaire and 2 wraithlords and 3 wraithguard and 3 wraithlord if i wanted to be a cheeselord.  But in my alaitoc eldar army i have a solitaire, 3 death jesters and a harly wraithlord with no regular wraithlord.

Where is this Harlequin WL listed at?  I have the Citadel Journal #39 (with the Harlequin list) but it doesn't list the WL anywhere in there.  Anyone have the source for it and/or the statline and rules?

dont forget the chapter approved rule.  u have to have 8 wraithguard per wraithlord, not 1 WG unit per WL.

i remember reading it somewhere, and my chapter approved seems to have gone missing... SO it mite be in the craftworld codex.  but i'm almost positive that it IS in fact a rule, not some mindless babbling...

Nope, it is not in the Craftworld Codex either.  Nor is it in the main Eldar Codex.

Ahh, that was the false rule from the false rumor we recieved several months ago. Don't worry about it.

The point is, that you can have your big fat dead-guy units out there, and still load up on elites.  What most people miss is the spiritseer;  big deal, your warlocks cost 8 points more?  I'll skip it, thanks!
But the spiritseer allows you to beef up those wraithlords by giving them automatic cover saves against those ratling snipers and lascannons while they rush across the open towards the Leman Russ, or give them (lol) WS 5 and I5 when they finally get there.  Plus the ability to attach a warlock to an elite unit, thus giving them auto-cover, or WS5/I6, or rerolled pinning tests (great for Banshees!), or augmenting the unit with a heavy flamer attack.  That is WAY cooler than the altered force org chart.  Use it!

See Citadel Journal #44 pg 38

95 points, identical to a regular Wraithlord, except it ca take a d-cannon for 30 points, and it comes with a Holo-suit (4+ inv save) and a Mask of Fear
