Good Old Imp Guard
« on: March 19, 2002, 03:33:30 PM »
Seeing this new Sister Community to our great site gave me chance to wax nostalgic for the good old Imperial Guard from the RT days.  I used to love the fact that GW had a generic box set of IG figs.  I loved that IG armies could take Chaos Beastmen from the WHFB range.  I also remember that IG could take units of Repentant Sinners, whose only job was to get close and blow themselves up!

Ah, the truely gritty good old RT IG.  Do Commisars still kill the commander when the Squads break and take command?

yep commissars still have that ability and that adds to the realism of the game.

so tell us more of those days. I for one do not know anything about it...

it was a much simpler time, of IG cavalrymen, jet bikers and motorcyclists and the Leman Russ model had never been released and the IG had to be content with land raiders which was the mainstay Imperial battle tank and Rhinos.

yea, back when a rino could acually dominate a battle, and a 20 man force was quite sizeable.
