Put me down for Fiction or Feature Articles - got masses of stuff to play with.

And maybe Experimental Rules.

As for ideas, I bounce ideas around quite often - usually as I go to sleep or sit listening to mind numbing music.

Some of these are useless but may inspire you... look at your playlist for ideas.

'Rogue'
'Outpost'
'Requiem' - tis already being used for MedV Propaganda stuff but hey...
'You Spin Me Right Round' - its going full circle
'Die Another Day'
'Ministry of Information'
'contraband'
'Now We Are Free'
'Remember The Name'
'Points of Authority'
'Firepower'
'cartridge'
'Last Stand'
'Warlocks'
'Renegade' - really like this one...
'Like Toy Soldiers'
'Wargaming Never Dies'
'classified'
Its an even stranger day when you have a fat Games Workshop-Fanboy Ninja declare to end you for something you did for April Fools on Teh Interwebz.

It's a strange day in the world where I find myself agreeing more often than not with Swiper.  :D

Pathfinder: you could write feature articles! just write about anything about 40k, be it humourous, insightful, inspiring or all three!  Think about it.  Until then, i'll put ya down for the newbies section.

Swiper: I'll add in experimental rules.  How could i forget about that?  I'll put you down for all 3.  You dont have to submit all 3 things but its nice to know who can do what  ;)  Haha call me brainwashed but watching TV/movies always inspires me :P

I'm in the process of making a custom Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbike Lord - hopefully it will be done within a week or so.

However, anything I write I put on my own site.  If that's not a problem you can use/link to the article that will result from it.

Otherwise, I'm not crazy about the idea of exclusive content.

I like the idea ;) I'm not sure I could consistantly turn out good articles, though I might turn out one or two, I'd be happy to offer services proof reading/minor editing though.

Count me in for tactics/gaming.  I know a decent bit about almsot every race, more about Eldar, Chaos and SMurfs.  I am decent at experimental rules as well.

Does this have to be limited to just table-top? Maybe an article about DoW, mArk of Choas, Warhammer onilne, Inquisitor, BFG, Blood Bowl and such?

One more thing- let GW know about this, get their permission, and maybe get them to post a link.  Also, ask them if they could give us 'Sneak Previews' and such.  Worth a try...

errr... names.....

"40ko Monthly/quarterly/Whenerverly"

"WAAAGGHH! Magazine"

"Archive Imperium
Your source for all things 40k"

"WD Sucks"  ;D

"40k Uncencored, Unrated"

"F@#% GW/WD"

"Whuzzat?" i dunno just thought of it......

"Warhammer 40k online ultimate online magazine that kicks WD's A**" a bit long, but it is what we are striving for...

"Warhammer 40k OUOMTKWDA" an acronym of above. just cuz i thought of it.

"41st Millenium" short, simple, to the point.

In my honest opinion, it'd be better if it was a bit humorous, and poked fun at gw's pushing of shiny new things and what have you.

I would suggest coming up with a set format for people to submit battle reports and comments on those battles.  An example being 1 picture for each round and a set decription for movements/shooting/assaulting for each player.  This way everyone can send in a well formatted battle reports that can be very useful for people looking at using/building certain armies.  I would be interested in submitting some on occasion (though I don't have a lot of free time).

Those are all pretty good names people.  We should all vote on one later.  If you guys want to help, please specify which section you would like to work on.  Also, you dont have to constantly submit articles.  THis is just a test run anyway, so just submit whatever you fancy writing.

Treg Pjwninaro:  I guess we could move into others as well.  DOW has been included in the maybes and i may be writing an article for that.

Chaos Toast: you could do that, i'll put you down for a feature article.

We still need more people to write modelling/painting stuff.  So if anyone can lend a hand...

P.S always refer to the first page for the most up to date list

Looks like we've got more than 10 people now!  I think we got enough to get writing!  So get on it slaves! :P

Heres a few guidelines for writing the stuff.  Im no great writer, but these are what i feel should/should not be done:

1.  Articles should be relevant to 40k/tabletop/whatever you're writing about (duh)
2.  Don't write useless stuff.  If we already knew it, we dont need it in writing.
3.  Don't write anything that's similar to whats in WD.  Thats what we want to avoid :P
4.  For the love of crum, spell check  ;D  If you use MS word or any word processor, please use the spell check.  That'll save us a lot of time.
5.  I know not everyone here may speak english as their first language, but still try your best to keep grammar and sentence structure to a reasonable standard.
6.  Articles should be at least a page long.  This can be argued, but i dont think i've seen any articles in WD less than a page.
7.  Fiction writers, if you can get an illustration done for your story, all the better!
8.  Proof read your stuff.  Or get someone else to.
9.  Use headings and sub headings in longer articles
10.  Submit your articles in MS word file format.
11.  Make battle reports interesting.
12.  You can submit as many articles as you like.

A word on pictures:

Make sure any pictures you include are in .jpg format for size purposes

Make sure the pictures are of good quality.  Im no amazing photographer myself, but i've been reading up on miniature photography on sites such as coolminiornot (in the articles).  I suggest you do to Smiley

For conversions, make sure you get close ups, angles, and finished product photos.

Diagrams: Diagrams gooood.  We like diagrams dont we?  A good diagram is much better than a bad photo.

we need painting articles and more gaming and modelling articles

First of all:

3.  Don't write anything that's similar to whats in WD.  Thats what we want to avoid Tongue

Quote
6.  Articles should be at least a page long.  This can be argued, but i dont think i've seen any articles in WD less than a page.

 ::) :D

Now i dont own or read WD and probably never will, so i am kind of unbiased.

MS format might be a problem, since i use open office, which can read wordfiles, but IIRC not write them, so i might simply pm the stuff i write, although it would be better if you could read org files. I think you can download open office for free.

Maybe i will have time next week to start writing.
I will probably right a battlereport about my next game which should happen sometime this month... (we are running a league with monthly battles).

No problem, I'll give you a 100% increase in pay effective immediately and retroactive to 1999.
