Hello again.
Some of you might know that I've been collecting Black Templar for a time. None of you know that I haven't painted a single model.
There is a reason for this, however. I quite simply want to make my own color scheme for the Templar while keeping their dark and sinister appeal, if not adding to it. I've given it thought and I've got a pretty good idea about the direction I want to go with them, but there still seems to be something missing, and I just can't put a finger on it.
I like the feel the chains bring to the army, like they're punishing themselves for a past misdeed, and I really like the sharp angles of the crusader-style helmets, something I've already discussed in a different post. I'm also considering using a massive amount of troop type units with lots of decoration.
All these things considered, my paint scheme settled somthing like
-black armor(obviously)
-very dark metallic for all metal regions
-bone shoulder pads
-scarlet or purplish red tabards/robes/cloth
-green eyes and wax on purity seals
-possibly gold trim?
As you can see, it's not much different. My inspiration comes from this.
