Numbers for a Lotr Forum?
« on: February 16, 2012, 04:43:20 AM »
Hey guys,

I love lotr. I have a amphetamine parrotload of stuff and I thoroughly enjoy submersing myself into a physical representation of Tolkien's world I've been in love with ever since I was a kid. However as wonderful as it is, the lack of a decent lotr community is a huge pain in the ass. There's some stuff on warseer, but I'm a 40konline fanboy :D

So I was wondering if we actually had the numbers to try and rally for a lotr devoted forum in the main forum section alongside fantasy and 40k. Even if it's only one thread where we can discuss everything; gaming, army lists, tactics, modelling, general questions or whatever, it would be fantastic to be able to have a single meeting space for us lotr players. Somewhere where our small numbers can unite into a tight nit community!!

So my first question to us all, is thus;

Is there enough support for this type of forum to even be warranted?

And secondly; if so, are the mods interested in making this a possability?

I hope to hear from many hidden lotr followers emerging from the shadows, but I guess we shall see.

Cheers guys,

~Morty

If there is traffic we will make the forum for it. That is how the forums grow.
Originally Fantasy was in this forum, then grew into its own forum, and then split into the forums it has now.
So if there is traffic and topics for it, we will make a forum for it.

Lost Roads - finally released!

Don't just sit waiting... start LoTR discussions in order to encourage people to post there.

I've posted a few, but I always get thrown off cause I never know where to post them :/

But you're right, that is the best way to generate interest.

Cheers O!nk :)

Having played a bit of LOTR recently, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more discussion about it. Granted, I'm not sure exactly how many people actually come her for LOTR stuff, but things might pick up.

Chicken before the egg? ;)

If we had the forum, more people would come, but there may not be the need for it in the first place :(

I suggest starting by posting an overview of the great terrain project you are trying to do for LOTR :). That will draw some attention.

Been awhile since anyone's posted but I'm still gonna throw in my two cents anyway :)

I'm just getting into lotr and I'm already a little dismayed by the lack of decent fansite. There obviously hasn't been much traffic on 40konline but if anyone knows of a decent site they could direct me to I'd be grateful.
I have a real issue with the amount of censorship on this forum and am choosing to no longer participate. Please consider this account indefinitely inactive.

Happy gaming everyone:)

You guys may want to check out The Last Alliance. I was a member there years ago, and it still seems to be going strong. It's not quite as busy as our own dear 40kO, but it's totally dedicated to LoTR.
The Diplomacy League - give it a look.

Well played. Drybrushing is the future *twitch*
beslubber you sheepz!  :P

You know you play too much Diplomacy when you have more PM's than forum posts.
