Althion will search for traps, then move to the centre of the T junction, to see what he can see.

Gimli, while giving his axe a last stroke with his whetstone shouts to Lori: "Your old feet already tired? First to kill, first to loot!" With that, Gimli kicks open the door to his left.

Gimli opens the door on his left and takes a look inside.

Desperate not to be outshadowed by the young whipper snapper Lori runs forward leaving common sense far far behind and lifts the multi purpose tool that is his right boot and does the business to the right door before anyone has a chance to stop him

(i am aware that the Lori and Gimli rivalry could cause us some problems guys but i do think its in character :P )

Althion looks down the corridor but seeing no danger proceeds to the junction ahead, where the corridors simply continue on, each in their own direction.
Gimli, meanwhile, steps up to the nearest door, opening it. Inside there is a fireplace with a long-since cold fire, and rattling in surprise at the sudden entrance, three undead monstrosities; a zombie, a skeleton and a wight.

Gimli blocks the square Lori would need to be in to open the opposite door.
You won the surprise-roll so you get to move first.

With a mighty roar Gimli charges into the room and hacks at the slow moving wright before it can find its undead wits.

Gimli moves to the upper left corner of the room to engage the wright and to allow other partymembers to enter the room.

You are correct. However, now the Zombie is locked, so someone could pass it and engage the wight.

[ooc] didn't realize this was a new thread....[/ooc]

Thod sees the other charge forward recklessly - so eager to prove themselves.... stupip he thought stupid and a fine way to die.

Still, he couldn't leave them all the glory...
Moving up he sees the skeleton is unengaed and could easy double team the others, so he charges it with a throaty growl
So, what your saying is it's not your fault you look stupid by using words you don't get?
Flawless logic.

Observing his brutish companions charge blindly into the room, Althion will now slip discretely into the room, moving to the right of Glimli, where he will bravely skewer the Zombie on the diagonal, using his spear.

[Where he is safe from immediate retaliation?]

Charging into the room the heroes lift their weapons to strike at the undead!
Gimli raises his axe and drives it home, cleaving the zombie in twain, spilling it onto the floor!
Lori, steeled by his comrade's bravery, charges in, but the Wight bares its fangs in a cruel grin and turns his blade to the side.
Thod raises his massive sword but the swing is wide and the skeleton avoids it.
Althion, seeing that the zombie has fallen, slips passed but stares in mute horror at the wight, unable to lift his spear.
Nellin, likewise, gets close, but is then gripped with the fear of the undead cold, and stares dumbly at the skeleton as it turns on him.

The wight, grinning, lifts his ice-dripping blade to drive it into Lori. The blades strikes deep, sinking into Lori's chest. However, the creature is overextended and Lori manages to lift his hammer to strike in retaliation. The swing is hindered by the dagger in his chest and does not strike home.
The skeleton turns to Nellin and swings its rusty glaive, but Nellin easily ducks under it.

Gimli steps over the fallen zombie and smashes at the wight. The axe bites deeply into the thing which hisses madly.
Lori, seeing his companions success, swings his hammer and while he hits squarely, the wight is unmoved.
Thod swings, hits, but the skeleton merely grins its dead smile, unharmed.
Althion stabs at the wight but the blade slides harmlessly off the creature.
Nellin cowers in fear.

The wight stabs at Lori again, but the old runecaster sees the blow coming, and deftly evades it, striking back. Unfortunately the blow fails to connect.
The skeleton swings at Nellin, and again Nellin easily ducks.

Gimli swings again, but it slides off the undead monster.
Lori swings, but misses.
Thod rears back, bringing the massive sword down on the skeleton's head, smashing it to bits.
Althion twists his hips, stabbing and then slicing at the wight. The stab hits but does not affect the undead thing, but he slice flicks rotting flesh from the bones.

The wight hisses, stabbing at Lori who miraculously steps out the way, only seeing his leather armour cut.

Gimli passes his bravery and then scores an effective four wounds (out of three possible, with a Critical wound, killing the zombie outright.
Lori misses.
Thod misses.
I am assuming Althion will move to exploit this opening. He, however, fails his bravery and stops short of attacking.
Nellin, likewise, fails his Bravery.

The Wight scores a critical hit for two wounds on Lori, but on his additional attack fumbles, affording Lori a free attack. This misses.
The skeleton misses Nellin.

Gimli pases bravery and hits, and even though the wight is Invulnerable (which means you score a wound only 8,3% of all opportunities, very nasty) inflicts two wounds on it!
Lori passes bravery and hits, but does not inflict any wounds (because, as I mentioned, teh thing is Invulnerable).
Thod hits, but fails to inflict any wounds (1, 2, 3, 2, 2, terrible rolls).
Althion misses, but as he cannot be hit back the wight cannot counter, despite the fumble.
Nellin fails Bravery.

The wight fumbles, but Lori fails in striking back.
The skeleton misses once more.

Gimli hits, inflicting no wounds.
Lori misses.
Thod connects, inflicting five wounds including one critical, ending the skeleton.
Althion hits, a critical strike, and hits his followup, but only inflicts a single wound (Invulnerable, remember?)
Nellin cannot hit anything from here.

The wight hits Lori, killing him. He spends a Fate to negate the damage, and as he does so he also denies the monster a chance to regenerate wounds lost.

I will leave you to rethink your situation a bit. Althion is free to move, as is Nellin and Thod, even though Thod cannot hit diagonally, but Nellin can shoot into the fray, or maybe Lori wants to break out the magic? The wight is a very tough customer.

I'll move one spot diagonally upwards to the right, and I'll ready my bow. That should give our Mage a chance to nail the wight with a spell, on the diagonal?

Are Wights "Invulnerable" to magic spells, or just "Mundane Weapons?"

They are immune to all non-magical means. Spells and magical weapons work normally.

Are you sure Rasmus? In this case i shouldnt have been able to score a wound at all. In the original Advanced Hero Quest rules invulnerable means:

Some monsters are magically invulnerable and require a powerfull and well-aimed blow to damage them at all. When rolling damage dice, even those dice which score equal to or greater than the monsters toughness can only be counted if there is at least one 12 rolled. This does not apply to damage rolled as a result of a free attack or to any attack made with a magical weapon.

This would also fit with the 8% chance you calculated to land a wounding hit (though its not entirely right, since i roll more than one attack dice i think).

Seeing Lori in trouble Gimli roars:"Leave the old man alone and face me!" and hacks at the wright.

Gimli takes his chance and continues to hit the monster with his axe.

But your damage-roll was 12, 10, 7. This means that you rolled a "12" (thus filling the pre-requisite for hurting Invulnerable creatures) and then a "10" which also inflicts a wound. The 7 is too low to inflict a wound. That means you score two wounds! Near huh?
