Title: 40K Zombie RP Gameplay
Post by: The Nightwalker on April 16, 2011, 05:28:55 PM
Ok everyone. I'll start the RP in the next post a few minutes from now.

Gameplay: You will describe the actions of your character after each update, one action per update. Dialougue does not count as an action. Ill update after all players have posted their response Simple enough?

Rules: No god-modding. You do not shoot the rogue servitor in the head turning it into a pink and electrified mist. You attempt to shoot it in the head and turn it into a twitching robotic corpse. I will not feel bad when the warp opens up sucking you inside.

Dont argue with me. Im new to this and will gladly take advise from all of you, but Im still God in this world.

Sanguinius: Your not part of the first update, ill bring you in on the second or third. Hope thats ok.

You wake up in a brightly lit room, and your eyes need a few seconds to adjust. You realize you are in a bed, and as your eyes adjust you realize your one of five people in the room. Looking around you find that everyone has just woken up. Four men who are all naked, and one woman who has a papery gown on. You have no memory of these people, or how you got in this room.
On the left side of each bed is a small table, with the persons clothes folded and cleaned on it. Upon further examination of the surroundings it is noticed that the table and bed frames are all made of maple. At one end of the rectangular room is a large security door with a security camera mounted above it, and at the other end of the room was a large maple counter top. That sitting on which was five tall shot glasses, a roasted grox, a bottle of top-shelf Scotch, five plates, five sets of silver ware, a lighter, and a carton of lho-sticks.
In the room there are also three servo-skulls, two Medicae skulls, and the third armed with some sort of dart gun. The Medicae skulls both have freshly used empty syringes on them, and are moving away from the humans. While the Servo-skull with the gun hovers near the door facing the beds.

amphetamine parrot, thought Shea blearily as he looked around. He noticed the Medicae skulls, and wondered what in the Emperor's name had been put in those syringes. He stretched and sat up slowly, his aching body protesting his every move. He got to his feet, and walked over to the table to his left that had his clothes on it.

Shea's nudity did not bother him unduly; as long as everyone else in the room was as vulnerable as he, there was no humiliation or embarrasment. He put on his clothes, and while he did so he examined his body for needle marks. He also checked his trench coat and his utility belt to see if there was any equipment inside of them.

Crexx, silently rolled out of bed, he thought ot himself "i've woken up in worse than this before" He moves to quickly dress himself and begin to look at each of the others in the room in turn, noticing their individual anatomical elements, observing how best to turn the siutation to his advantage.

Maruis will pick up his clothes and begin dressing. While he is doing this he stares at the ground not wanting to lock eyes with anyone. These people have been through much more than him, but he is proud that he was chosen to be among them. He didn't know who had brought them here or why, but it was obviously for something that was of great necessity.

[OOC]Is our gear on the table as well, just asking because from what I interpreted it was just clothing, no battle armor or weapons right?[OOC]

"Damn it! Where's Jinxy 'n my guns?!"  The gruff rasping exclamation lost some of its tone, coming as it did from an artificial trachea, but the Marshall's displeasure was still very obvious.  He grabbed his clothes, scanned the suite and made straight for the liquor.

He deftly spun the cap off and poured himself two shots, which he gulped down in rapid succession.  "Tha's better,"  a belch interrupted him before he could continue and he shook his head slightly at the taste of it.

Pulling on his clothes, he looked around at the rest of the group, analyzing who they likely were and why they were here.  Plopping his hat on, he sat down on the counter and examined the grox.  It looked finely cooked; much better than what he was used to.  Actually come to think of it, all this stuff was much finer than he was used to.

[occ] Just got back - catching up on important work stuff - will update properly tomorrow (or tonight if I get time) [/occ]

Faith got up and surveyed the room. Turning away from the men, she removed the gown and sat down. Taking a long nail she pressed it into her skin just below her neck, and leaving a faint bloody trail, ran her nail all the way down to her nape. She continued making lines for several minutes before standing up and facing the men, she looked them over.

She walked calmly over, and dressed. Looking at the table, she picked up a knife and ran her tongue over the metal.

"Weak" she said. Then she flung it into the table so it stood handle up. Looking over the rest of the men, she sat down and addressed them.

"Faith"

Shea found the tiniest set of no less than three needle pricks on his thigh. He also found that not only had his coat been cleaned of dirt and grime, but of his belongings to.

The Security door slides open quickly, revealing its great thickness. As it opened two men stepped through it. The first was tall and slender. He had dark hair and dark eyes. He wore an expensive yet functional looking long coat, it was snow white with a shiny silver trim. On his right hip he wore what appeared to be some sort of las dueling pistol, it was made of a white wood stock and shiny silver metals. On his other hip was an even more menacing looking weapon, a power rapier. The man was obviously of high status, but worse appeared to be able to use the weapons he bore.

The second man, standing behind and to the left of the first appeared equally intimidating. He was dressed all in black, and on his waist was a combat knife, and a very large revolver.

After they had passed through the door the first man enters into speech with a low but friendly voice, “I’am Thane Leman of Roitar.” Looking at the Marshall sitting on the table with the shot glass he smiled, “It’s nice to know at least one of you is making himself at home. How do you like the whiskey? I chose it myself.”

Maruis looked at the two men who had just entered with obvious curiosity, and then realizing that it would be a sign of disrespect not to enjoy their hosts hospitality, he makes his way to the table and takes a seat and will begin to help himself to the food and drink availiable their. He thinks maybe he should try and slip a blade in his sleeve but discards the thought of doing such. He then waits for the men who had entered to speak.

Faith tensed. Her hand near but not on the knife. She was uncertain as to who these men where, or what their intents, but they had drugged and kidnapped her. That they were skilled enough to have done so was impressive. She would see what they had to say.

Shea nodded in acknowledgement to Thane. His first impulse was to become angry, but he realized that Thane held all of the cards in this particular instance. It would pay to treat him with grudging respect for now. "Under normal circumstances, I would shake your hand and introduce myself, but I hope you'll forgive me if I stay where I am. In any case, I have a feeling that you already know all about me." He motioned over to the table. "Is this your way of making us feel better about being imprisoned?"

"I reckon we're all here for a good reason.  And the whiskey's good; goes down real smooth."

He ignored the tension that was so obviously playing over the others in the room.  If this man wanted them dead, he looked capable enough to ensure their demises.  Since they were still alive, it stood to reason that the man, either a Rogue Trader or possibly an Inquisitor, thought they would be useful in some way.  He sat back and watched the events unfold as they would.

The Thane gave a hearty laugh at the comments of the new rookies, you aren't prisoners, "you are here to negotiate your contract. Which I assure you all that you will accept, no one has refused so far. Please eat, the waking usually leaves people hungry. Then we will talk to my master, and negotiate your contracts. Then to the armory so you all can reclaim your possessions.” The Thane smiling went over to the box of thick hand rolled lho-sticks, carefully selecting one he sniffed it and lit it up. “Any other questions?”

Maruis says to the Thane from across the room, "What do you mean 'no one has refused so far'? Have other people been chosen for this? Also, I would like to know what kind of support we will have once we get to wherever it is we are going."

Shea folded his arms. "You say that no one has refused the offer to date? Was this due to the deliciousness of the carrot or the fear of the stick?"

The thane gave a long sigh. Letting out a plume of smoke, he caused Faith to cough once as she stood in its cloud. "Sit down all of you, looks like i'm going to have to give some details." After waiting for them to take seats he continued, "You all are in orbit around the Hive world Menau, which has gone silent. As the head servant to inquistador Cecil my job is to recruit, contract, and prepare Acolytes. In this case my master wanted a fresh batch to work with. So I hand picked all of you and brought you here."

"About no one refusing my contracts so far, it is because who can refuse the wealth of the inquisition? I can offer you almost anything you desire. Even a permanent career with food, shelter, and good benefits. I would like to here all your terms tonight so you can go to work in the morning."

Leman put out his smoke and smiled. "Your job will be to investigate what has happened on Menau. You will have a direct link to the inquisitional fleet, and will have its full support."

"Alright, I'll do it given that you can do for me what I need done back home."

The Marshall's raspy voice carried with it the smokiness of the whiskey he had just gulped down.  His hands were now folded over his stomach as he leaned back against the counter, apparently the most relaxed person in the room.

Maruis was worried, but tried not to let it show. He had read and heard about missions like this it already seemed like they might be keeping them in the dark for a reason and he doubted that they would have the fleets full support. They were expendable... He swore to himself. We all gotta die sometime he thought. "I don't care for wealth," he said aloud, "Just guarantee me that I will be able to work for you untill I decide to leave your service. May that be after the next mission or 20 missions in the future."

The Thane smiled now that they could get on their way with the Negotiations. "Certainly, we will consider that one of the terms of your contract. You will each recieve good rations, a 10x10 room for housing that you may do anything you'd like with, you may request any small items throughout your service as an add on to whatever you decide you want as payment, what else do you all want? The only catch is you will be in service to the imperium, and in that duty you will occasionally have to par take in high risks missions. But you have all done equally risky things in the past."

Leman pulled a data slate. "Please right any additional terms here and sign. I myself will work for another 13 years, at the end of which I will recieve 150 men, 1 chimera, 130 lasguns, 5 longlas rifles, 15 bolt pistols, 10 chainswords, 5 power swords, 135 sets of flak armor, 15 flak coats, among a large amount of personal possesions, and other various items. Enough to take back a large amount of lost property on a feudal planet, dont you agree?" The now apparent to be only a former Thane smiled, he was obviously illustrating the extense of what one could request as payment.

Leman turned to the man who had entered with him, "James you can update your contract to if you would like?"

Shea's jaw nearly dropped at the expense of the items that Leman had listed. With that kind of army he could be the most feared gang lord in all of Necromunda! Even those blasted Spyrers would think twice before going close to his strongholds.

Taking the data slate, Shea scribbled down 20 years, after which I will receive 200 men, 50 lasguns, 50 autoguns, 10 bolters, 10 sniper rifles, 20 shotguns, 10 bolt pistols, 15 laspistols, 15 autopistols, 5 grenade launchers, 5 flamers, 10 heavy stubbers, 20 chainswords, 10 power weapons, 190 sets of flak armor, 10 sets of carapace armor, 300 frag grenades, 30 krak grenades, and transport to take all of it back to Necromunda. He signed his name quickly at the bottom, and gave the data slate back to the former Thane.

Waiting for the rest of the group to finish with their eager scribbling on the data pad, The Marshall considered what the Thane had said.  It would be nice to have some back up back home when he managed to get back there.  The blueies and anti-xeno protesters could get out of hand at times.  From what they were saying though, he wouldn't be back there for a good while yet.

He thought about his requirements for a second and then decided on what he would need.

After his term of service was up with this inquisitor he would need a guarantee that he would be reinstated as the Marshall back home, a group of men to look after things while he was gone, and (he wasn't sure if this one would be granted) access to Ordo Xenos captured Tau weaponry over the course of his career.  It was just so much better than the Ad. mech. stuff that always broke down when you needed it most.

He took the slate last and wrote carefully:
A platoon of handpicked and well equipped men to keep order for the duration of my career,
Access to Ordo Xenos armories of captured Tau antipersonnel equipment,
Reinstatement as Marshall upon my release from Inquisitorial service after 20 years.

Following this, he thought for a while longer and wrote one final condition:
Access to and routine treatments of juvenat drugs and procedures to ensure many years of continued service to the Emperor.

Then he signed his name and gave his contract to the Thane.

"When do we head dirtside?  I reckon we'd best get started with our investigations soon as possible."

Faith took the data tablet and scoffed at the material rewards written by the others. She needed no time to contemplate her request.

She wrote
Blood. Blood of the enemies of the Emperor. May it never cease to flow. May I be drenched in it. Let it adorn my hair, and clothe my body. So long as there are those who turn away from the Emperor's ways, I shall drink deeply of their life.

Walking calmly, she placed the slate on the table.

[OOC] Dont worry. Most of us as I understand were busy anyways. Hope this is worth the wait, I tried to give you all heads up with the immediate future of the RP with it. [/OOC]

Leman smiles as the last of the new acolytes signs the data slate. “I’m very pleased to find that at least two of my new brothers have taken full advantage of the inquisition's resources. I will lead you all to the armory, where you will find your things in the lockers by the door. Also, Marshall if you would like to see your pet it can be arranged as well.”

Leman opened the door and led the way into the hall. The floor was that of a gray stone tile, and the walls a dark wood. Art and icons adorned the wall, mostly of the emperor but there were those of great battles and even one of the guardsmen of cadia. “This is the acolyte’s deck on the vessel Holy fire. It is off limits to the crew, and only us and our hundred and seven brothers and sisters are allowed on it. The deck above us is the masters deck, only go up there by invitation. on this deck we have a chapel, armory, storeroom, cafeteria, lounge, bar, gym, a pistol range, and one hundred and fifty acolyte’s chambers each with its own bathroom. It is all maintained by servo-skulls, and a few servitors.” One or two servo-skulls were always in sight of the group at any given time during their walk down the passage, zooming overhead to complete one task or another.

The Thane’s voice involuntarily dropped a few decimals as the subject changed. “We have stopped receiving any vox signals from Menua, and the atmosphere is too thick for orbital surveillance. We sent a few smaller ships to monitor the hive, but have reported no external damage. We are going to drop into the hive and will try to learn what has happened there.”

The Thane now opened a large mechanical steel door, and waited while the metal cogs spun slowly and the door slid to one side. When it was out of the way, it was extremely obvious they were in the armory. Ten feet in front of the door was a metal desk, where a short bearded man sat smoking. Behind him was a vast and organized array of crates, shelves, lockers, and cabinets all bristling with all types of weapons. In front of the desk the walls were lined with lockers, eack bearing a different name.

Shea made his way over to the locker with his name on it. He couldn't help but notice that it was quite a bit larger than everyone else's, and grinned. He opened the door and reached inside, grabbing his assortment of knives, grenades, his autopistol, his shotgun, and last of all, his massive heavy bolter. Hefting it, Shea's smile became even broader.

Hell, yeah. Now this is what I was born to do. And now I have Inquisitorial approval to do it.

Victorinus stumped over to his locker, checking it for Jinxy's tack and for his pulse pistols.  Satisfied that everything was as it should be, he turned to the bearded man and gruffly called out, "Where's my jinxy?  She'd be the big foul tempered lizard thing."

He wanted to see how she'd taken to the journey and though he would never let anyone see it, he was a little worried for her well-being.

Faith moved into the room last, watching all the others go to their lockers. She didn't like any one else touching her possessions, but there was nothing she could do about it now.

She walked over to the locker marked as hers and opened it. It contained only a black box. Faith grinned as she noticed that the inquisition had failed to open this box. She took a knife and slit open her palm, planting it firmly on top of the box. With a hissing sound it expanded and opened.

She carefully selected her equipment. With no idea of the target, she needed to come prepared. First was her kit of toxins. Few were meant to kill but they would all hurt. Next was a pair of mono daggers, the edges sharpened to a microscopic point. After that came her repair kit, meant for keeping her blades sharp. A set of greaves went around her forearms. The light material was pressure reactive, which meant it would harden faster and tougher the harder it was hit, but its weight would not slow her down. They had a blade on each that could extend if needed. Then came her prize possession. It was a long curved blade, with runes all up and down it. A power sword of ancient and forbidden techniques, known by some as a Vampire blade. Finally, as an after thought she picked up six throwing knifes, enough for two volleys.

The toxins and sharpening kit both tucked into pouches at her belt, and her throwing knives had their slots there too. The daggers went into her boots, and the sword across her back. Outfitted correctly, she sealed her container, placed it back in the locker, and turned back to the Thane.

As James entered the armoury alongside the Thane, he breathed a quiet sigh of releif; the newly "recruited" alocates had acepted the Inqisition's offer without trouble and the situation had gone smoothly. A good thing too, he hadn't wanted to have to waste a bullet on one of the Emperor's subjects.
He watches the others move to their lockers and procede to check their equipment, just as he had done when he was in their situation himself.
He permits himself a smile at the memory as he walks calmly over to his own locker and opens it and retreives his feild kit. He retreives from his pack a small kit containing assorted tools and a cleaning rag and unloads his revolver, carefully taking out each bullet in turn, cleaning the chamber and placing the round back into its box. After cleaning his sidearm, he replaces it in its holster and places the pack back into the locker.
With reverance usually reserved for an Ecclesiarchy Preist's handleing of his holy Texts or a Mechanicus Tech Adept holding some ancient technology, James reaches into the locker and draws out his rifle. He braces it on his shoulder and looks strait down the sights. Finding them satisfactory, he carrys the rifle over to the nearest available seat and begins stripping it down and cleaning each peice thoroughly. It looked like something big was afoot and he did not want his equipment failing in a time of need! [ooc: although now i think about it, i probably shouldnt have said that :P]

As he settles into the familiar task, he looks up at regular intervals to track the progress of the other members of the team and attempt to evaluate some of their personalities.

The Thane smiled looking at his new and old followers, he took pride in all the men he recruited and served under him.  A young man ran into the armory, going straight to his locker he grabbed a vox caster, chain knife, short stub revolver, two frags,  and combat shotgun. He was obviously from some forge world. “Private Ross! Where have you been?”

“Sorry Sir, was in the store room. Couldn’t find what I was looking for.” He started to take a variety of shotgun shells and sliding them into the straps of his vox caster, which also had a variety of pouches that was a mystery what they contained.

The Thane rolled his eyes. That’s when you see there is no locker bearing his name. He tapped a button next to the door, and a servo skull emerged from somewhere overhead. “Stable.” Then turning to the Marshall. “Follow it quick, they are fast.”

“We leave early in the morning, I want you all to stop by the storeroom and find any supplies you need. Your rooms are all conviently straight down the hall. They all are relatively plain, but you can each lay a requests for new furnishings in the storeroom. Then go to the cafeteria and eat, we won’t take the time after you wake up at 0500. Meet me back here then.” The Thane turned and left the room, leaving the acolytes to their own devices.

Marshall entered a large room, filled with large cubicle like areas. In one of which was his pet, laying on a large bed of soft pillows. It seemed well fed and watered, even somewhat groomed. It jumped up at the sign of his master, obviously somewhat afraid of the foreign atmosphere without him.

A note was stuck on the wall near the lizard, reading: “Below is a map to your room. You will wake up at 0500, and report back to the armory. Thane Leman you have already met will meet you there. He will take you to a drop ship, your friend here will already be aboard. You will pass the storeroom on your way to your room, as well as the dining hall. Gather and eat all you need.”

Vitctorinus patted Jinxy on her elongated toothy snout, whispering a few soothing words to her before heading out to the store room and dining hall.  He checked the store room and armory for any Tau rifles that he could take with him when they went dirtside (OOC) up to the DM (/OOC).

After completing his search, he headed to the dining hall and snagged a plate of roast grox in gravy.  Munching on his food as he entereed his room, he stripped clumsily and made his way to the bath enjoying a nice warm soak for a few minutes before turning in for the sleep cycle.

He was awakened at 0445 by his alarm and he headed to the armory with the equipment he had gathered the night before in a satchel over his shoulder.

Shea spent most of his free time in the armory cleaning out his weapons; they were well overdue for a good stripping. He polished his many knives, and collected a few spare boxes of ammunition. After that, he searched for a pair of high-quality bolt pistols to add to his rather large collection.

Faith moved slowly out of the room, memo-recording ever passage way, every door and chair and desk. She stopped by the store room and gather enough in food suplies to last her a month. Any more than that and she could scavenge. It would not be her first time to do so.

Upon entering her room, Faith saw it was lavishly decorated. Tapestries hung on the wall. A long couch was at one end, and a large bed at the other. Several chairs and a desk were also present. She gathered everything up, except for the desk and mirror over it, and trust them out into the hall. Then she took out a small piece of wood, and began to carve it.

Soon there was a rough figure of the Aquila made, which she placed on the table. She gathered several candles from the store room and set them up around the Aquila, still unlit.

The she sat, legs crossed, back against the wall facing the door, and slept.

Maruis made his way to his room and when he entered it, disassembled and checked all of his gear and weapons and reassembled them. After he is finished with that, he simply layed out his gear on a table (if there is one, if not, it will be on the floor.).  Then he tries to get some sleep.

[OOC] Sorry, life was crazy this last week. But I should be back on now. [/OOC]

The Thane, private Ross, and James were already in the armory waiting for all the new acolytes at 0500. No one arrived late, though one was holding something that he was not yesterday. Victorinus succeeded in finding an old pulse rifle the day before, even if the ammo was limited. Shea also found what he was looking for, a finely crafted pair of bolt pistols. They were beautifully inlayed with obsidian, and the outer metals being white gold and silver. But the master of arms would not let him have them, but promised he would hold them in reserve for him until he came back from this mission.

The Thane’s dress was almost identical to what he had been wearing yesterday. Though it was clear upon close inspection that he was not wearing the long coat of yesterday, Even though it was obviously made to look very similar. He also now wore a light gray hat, which matched the silver trimming of his coat and metals of his dueling pistol. The only other difference was the ring he wore on his finger that depicted some crest set in stone.

The Thane led the way down three decks, bringing the party to two drop ships. “Ok private Ross, James, and the Marshall enter the one on the right. You will find the lizard in there waiting. The rest of you please follow me into the one on the left. Please fasten your selves in, the atmosphere is extremely thick. Which is why we can’t take orbital photos, but at the moment it will make for a rough ride.”
The drop ships were strangely nice inside, not elegant like the acolyte’s deck. But in a more simple way, it was clean and well kept. With thick seats and subtle safety features. Sort of upper mid hive looking.

Faith strapped herself in, and began to chant the litany of hate and redemtion.

Father of all, into you do I commit this sacred duty. With your blood you sanctified the worlds. With your blood you sanctified your people. With your blood you sanctified your servants.

With this Faith made a shallow cut across her palm

Let those who betray your blood shed their own. Their penance will be but a fraction of your gift. They will give their life-blood to cleanse them of their sins. When they stand before you, in time of judgment, look upon their drained body and know they have paid the first part of their price. They have mimicked your sacrifice, yet it is not enough to save even themselves. Nay, it is only enough to pay the passage to come before you. Then they shall know you are Lord of all

Faith went into deep breathing now, and began to chant

Blood of the Emperor, blood of the saints, blood of the servants, blood of the people, blood of the sinners. Blood connects us all. Blood of the Emperor, blood of the saints, blood of the servants, blood of the people, blood of the sinners. Blood connects us all. Blood of the Emperor, blood of the saints, blood of the servants, blood of the people, blood of the sinners. Blood connects us all. Blood of the Emperor, blood of the saints, blood of the servants, blood of the people, blood of the sinners. Blood connects us all.

James led the way onto the rightmost dropship. As he entered it, he was confronted by a large, irritated looking lizard-xenos of unknown origin. The fact that the Thane had mentioned it previously meant that the beast's presence was not a surprise, however James had not expected it to be so... big...

Damn Xenos.

He made his way around the beast and sat at the opposite end of the dropship, glancing back uneasily at the lizard as he noted its head tracking his movements although it made no other move. He retreived his revolver from its holster and set it on the seat next to him.

Maruis entered the dropship and fastened himself in. He couldn't sit in a chair with his weapon strapped to his back, so he simply held it in his lap with his autopistol in its hip holster. He again checked his gear and then Faith's chanting caught his ear. If she was as capable in combat as she was at scarring people, then the mission wouldn't be a problem. He tried not to let his uneasiness show. He looked at the others in the dropship. He was glad the Thane was coming along, he liked a person bossing him around to fight alongside him, makes them easier to take serious.

Victorinus entered the dropship to see Jinxy eyeing James warily.  "I's all righ' girl.  He's with us."  He patted her snout again and produced a bit of jerky-like meat from his coat.  Her nostrils flared and she instantly switched her attention to the morsel, her tail lashing slowly back and forth and her head lowering as she let forth an almost cooing trill from her throat.

With a smile, Victorinus tossed the morsel as high as he could, and watched as Jinxy's eyes followed it, her snout gaping for a split second to swallow it whole when it fell again.

Giving her one final rub on the neck, he made sure she was fastened in place securely and took the seat beside James.  "You know, shooting her just makes her angry.  Don't make the same mistake that feral kroot made."  he gestured to the pouch of jerky in his coat.  With this he laughed good naturedly and settled in for the bumpy ride with the pulse rifle on his knees.

The instant the whole party strapped in the doors of the two ships closed. A few seconds after the were speeding out of the the hangar towards the hive. The thick atmosphere causing extreme turbulence for the two drop ships. Everyone's belongings not kept down were sent up in the air and moved around the ship throughout the short flight.

But after a few minutes the ride became smoother. It wasnt long before they were circling the massive hive, looking for a upper mid hive level pad to land on. The Thane smiled, "were almost there boys. Get your gear ready, we don't know what happened."

The pilot called back "were landing. You have 30 seconds." The ships made a rough jerk as they changed course downwards towards the hive.

Faith bristled at that. She was not on the the boys. Not by a long shot. And she would not be treated like that. But now was not the time for confrontation.

Faith gathered her gear up, and made herself ready to hit the quick release and begin the bloodletting in a moments notice. She was careful to have a knife close a ready, but no where that it could go flying away from her in the event of a crash

James smiled wryly at the Marshall's remark but says nothing, prefering to keep silent and focus his mind on the task ahead - whatever it may be.

Presently, he hears the voice of the Pilot:
"were landing. You have 30 seconds"

James unslings his rifle from his back, loads a fresh power-pack and unclips the saftey catch before replacing his revolver in its holster and checks that his knife and other supplies are secured onto his belt. He then makes his way to a seat closer to the door and secures himself, ready for a rough landing but prepared to move out quickly if needed.

A recorded voice could be heard thirty.. twenty-nine.... As soon as it said zero the doors opened quickly, and the passengers each dropped about a foot to the ground. Nobody could be seen, they were in the open, In the middle of a street even. Cars were sitting about, all abandoned.

The surrounding buildings and docks seemed of a sturdy practical design, mostly made of stone. Some of the wooden doors and windows appeared smashed in. Some appeared to be barricaded in a feeble manner. Though the shipping docks of all sizes were completely lacking in ships of any type. One small nearby building appeared to be part of some local control building for the nearest of the docks.

One gruesome looking scene was a black sleek car hitting a tall metal pole, its driver side door was open and the inside filled with blood. But from the thick exterior of the car, it could be assumed it belonged to some form of law enforecement agency.

The Thane signaled the young private over to him. “Send in an update. Say we have touched down, and have yet to find any life.” The private made no replay other than a polite nod and relayed the message on his vox-system. The Thane stood with his arms folded behind his back, quietly scanning the horizon with watchful trained eys.

Leman turned about and raised an eye brow, “what in the emperor’s name are you all doing? Get to work.” Knowing it was better to lead by example the thane walked over to the law enforcement vehicle, without getting a drop of dried blood on his white coat he climbed over the seat and started to search the small automobile for clues.

Any of the Acolyte’s nearby would of easily of seen a duffle bag, a black pump-action shotgun, a pair of sunglasses, a back cap, a small vox-caster, and a few papers fly into a pile through the open door. Soon after the barrage of junk, the Thane followed through the door and started to sort through the pile.

The duffle contained nothing specifically note worthy, it was full of clothes, some food, and a little spare ammo for the shotgun. The papers were mostly useless info about the license of the vehicle, but one was a map of the local area. The shotgun was a little curious, a functional and reliable design that involved pumping each shot and loading from the top. Yet it had an integrated glo-light in the front of it.

To finish of the investigation the Thane took the now empty duffle bag and moved it to the side as he looked for a local vox station that was still working. Finding none he tossed the vox into his bag along with some of the food. He immediately eyed the small control building nearby, along with some of the other nearby buildings.

The private wasn’t idle either, he was peeking in cars. Opening the doors quickly and scanning with his shotgun. Odd as it was, he couldn’t find any bodies, Plenty of guts, limbs, and blood, But no bodies. At one moment though he clearly leaned over next to one of the cars and cleaned something before pocketing the small object, but there was no indication what it was.

[OOC] Sorry I didn’t leave anything to RP earlier, I was trying to make it as open as possible. Is this better? If you need any details for a response you can PM me. Maybe that’s how we can work out individual things your character notices. But thanks very much for the good honest feedback.[OOC]

James raised his rifle to his shoulder and did a 360 degree scan of the area through the scope, focusing on each nearby building in turn and checking each window and doorway carefuly in order to determine if there was anything in his enhanced feild of vision that his scope granted him which might be useful to the team, paying particular attention to the areas where the windows and door had been smashed, the baricades and the Control Building.

Quickly undoing Jinxy's restraints, Victorinus swung himself up onto her saddle and rode slowly out onto the platform.  He raised the old pulse rifle and scanned its scope around the area, searching out signs of movement and clues as to what might have caused this.  His first thought was Kroot, but the didn't leave so much behind usually.

Jinxy's nostrils flared as if she was sniffing out the scents of what was no longer in the area.  From the way her neck quills raised and her dewclaws flexed, Victorinus knew this was something she had never encountered before.

"Well that puts Kroot out of the running," he muttered, loud enough for the closest members of the party to hear.

[OOC] Sorry I didn’t update sooner. My pastor was running a kids camp and only had two male counselors other then him, so he asked me to help him out. [/OOC]
Jinxy’s nostrils flared rapidly as panicked sounds emanated from her. She was trying to warn her master of immediate danger. A moment later James noticed quick movement in some of the windows, though it couldn’t be said what the movement was.
A young slender woman emerged from the doorway in front of Shea, she was limping slowly. But as soon as she sighted Shea she let out an unnatural shriek and rushed ferociously towards him.

Seconds later a tall blonde man walked out of an alley, his head seemed to twitch as he caught sight of Private Ross a few feet in front of him. Marius saw the man but had no clear shots as Ross was placed between them. The private fired a salvo of lead slugs from his shotgun, each tearing straight threw the chest of the man. The man seemed almost entirely unhindered and grabbed the private and bit down on his shoulder, tearing a huge chunk of flesh from it and cracking the bone.

The Thane drew his laspistol in the blink of an eye, and fired at a third man who was coming from behind the control building. The head of which almost entirely incinerated from the terrible blast of the sidearm, leaving just a burnt stub that once was the right half of his jaw and his neck.

"Feth that grox amphetamine parrot!"  Victorinus' gruff curse rang out loudly as he swung the rifle around to sight the crazy man rending Private Ross' flesh.

"Fething chaos spawned filth."  He applied gentle pressure to the firing pad on the rifle.  The air hissed and cracked as the tiny round was superheated into fiery plasma and catapulted across the square.  If the sights on this old gun were aligned, it would take the man's brain pan off without killing the private.  If the private died, he would commend his soul to the Emperor, though he suspected it contained the creature's taint now.

Jinxy let out a keening shriek and charged forward after the rifle cracked, her clawed forearms reaching for the woman and her quills splaying into a scarlet fan about her upper neck.  Her hard scaly flesh flushed with scarlet patterns as predatory instinct took over and she sought to cow her prey before killing it.

James pivoted on the spot towards Private Ross. He dropped quickly down to one knee and peered though his sight.
As the thing savaged the private, he noticed the marshall taking aim with his xenos weapon. Upon noticing this, he dropped the barrel of his rifle slightly so the cross hairs were centred on the abomination's chest.

He breathed in, caught his breath at his full lung capacity, double checked his aim and pulled the trigger.

The rifle hummed for a milisecond as the concentrated Hotshot laser charged, then the distinctive Crack of a Las-weapon firing echoed through the surrounding area. The weapon let out a perfectly strait lance of ruby energy, spearing through the air in an instant towards what James assumed to be some sort of Warp-spawn.

[ooc: If the Marshall's shot missed/dosent kill it, and my rifle dosnt blow up in my face, it should hit the zombie near enough to the heart to at least make it let go...]

His shot fired, James stood back up, slung his rifle back onto his shoulder and checked the chambers of his revolver.

Half a second after she appeared the woman in front of Shea had her head completely splattered across the building she had previously occupied, with Faith running up as the body followed the head falling back into the building.

Faith’s mind was still fresh with the knowledge she gained from the map she still held. Straight up the main road north from the docks about four miles into the hive sat a small imperial shrine, and a librarium. Northwest about ten miles was a market. Twelve miles north, a spot was marked in red ink with the letters “HQ”. And all sorts of other symbols that Faith had yet to look over.

The man that was devouring the young private was sent flying against a nearby car, at least what was left of the man did. He had been hit perfectly by Victorinus and James. An alarm sounded from the vehicle in a high pitched chirp that could be heard from anywhere within half a mile.

The Thane looked panicked for a brief second, but the expression was masked within moments. He quickly reloaded his dueling piece with a fresh power pack, putting the old one under his coat. He then pulled a can of cast spray and tossed it to Marius, “seal the privates wound. We should be able to move him afterwards.” The Thane ran over and tossed the shotgun along with its ammo into the duffle bag.

He laughed rather loudly, masking his growing disquiet at the almost chaotic nature of the crazed people who had attacked them.

"Well I reckon we should get moving, everybody around'll have heard that car's racket."  He spat and pulled a little on Jinxy's reins, sending her to the mouth of North-most street leading away from their position to scent out any other approaching enemies.

James nodded his approval as Shea spoke, estimating their chances of surviving more waves of those things to be alarmingly low. the way they seemed to have some form of lag time between the kill-shot hitting their bodies or head and the actual death suggested to him that the group would need to tread extremly carefuly around here.

He then walked quickly across to the road opposite the one covered by the Marshall and stepped into the shadows, trusting the darkness of his cloths and the long shadow of early morning to conceal himself from any watching eyes. Marshall Rourke looked back once, then focused back on the road.  They were all focused on that one dead fellow.  He couldn't be helped any, why waste all the eyes on putting him down again?

Jinxy was well and truly spooked now so he concentrated on calming her down while surveying the road.

[OOC] Sorry I’ve been gone. I’m back now. [/OOC]

The Private died instantly from the headshots, slumping on his face.

The Thane came over and made gave a dismissive gesture towards Faith and pointed her towards the Marshall. Who was wisely making his way North in a direct path away from the scene. Opening the duffle the noble started to pluck the chain knife, revolver, shotgun, ammo, and anything else he could find and put it in the bag. “Someone take the Vox. We will need to give a report, this changes things.”

The Thane pulled a pair of thin plastic like gloves from his coat, and put them on. Upon completion he rolled the body on his back and closed the man’s eyes, which had turned completely black. He stood and removed the gloves and pulled a lighter and small bottle of fluid from a pocket. He started to pour the fluid in a crude Aquila on the man’s chest and lit it with a long sigh. “Sorry my friend, I do not have time to perform all the rights of your people. But I believe you would thank me for completing at least this.”

The Thane made a gesture to follow and sprinted off down the road towards the Marshall.

The Thane walked giving a report of the situation and their new findings. Unfortunately for Faith she didn’t startle the Marshall who happened to scope in her face while turning around (Unless this scares him).

After nearly an hour of walking and finding only one more crazy person who Faith ritually butchered, they see ahead of them a vast horde of crazies. The strange men were surrounding a large two story building, which appeared to be a shrine to the god-emperor.
With closer inspection las fire could be seen coming from the roof down into the horde of men. You could also see the great doors to the shrine were shut, with most of the people outside trying to break their way into the stone building.

The Thane pulled out from under his coat a small tubular instrument and put it to his eye, scanning the horde 250 yards away. “I would say there are around 200 of those things out front.” He then raised the device to point towards the roof “I see PDF troops on the roof firing at them. Maybe they can give us more clues about what is happening.”

Leman put the device back under his coat, “So what do you guys think we should do?” Staying very close to be able to continue talking with his fellow acolytes, Leman started rummaging through debris and nearby stalls. It was obvious this was a more religious section of town, and it appeared to have many pilgrims pass through judging by the nature of the stalls.

"We can't just leave those PDF troops to die. I think if we could get into another buildings roof, we could start firing on these things and hopefully get some of them to peel off towards us. Then both groups of us would have less of the things to deal with."

"We could do that, and then we'd be in the same place as they are."

The Marshall's voice was thick and gruff, not betraying a hint of emotion either way.  His hands tightened around the reins and his rifle as he though about their options.

"Or, we could lure them away into some sort of trap, but it'd take a while to rig something big enough up to take the lot of them."

James watched Faith run towards the undead horde and swore as he envisioned her being ripped to peices by the chaos mostrosities. Realising that he had no time to search for a good, high position from which to fire, he dropped calmly to one knee, swinging his rifle from his back and aiming it into the zombie horde. He began carefuly catching a zombie's head between his sights before fireing, leaving 5 seconds between blasts to help prevent overheating

The Thane rolled his eyes, he appeared more annoyed then surprised. He pulled a small data-slate from his long coat and helled it up towards the crowd. The pocket sized device made a clicking sound and he returned it to his coat, his hand returning with a metal cylinder that he put in his left hand. His right drawing his power sword as he walked after Faith.

Marius was the first to start firing, his first couple shots going high. But after a second of adjustment he nailed one of the creatures in the back of the head, it dropping amongst the horde.

Shea's heavy stubber drew a lot of attention, many of the horde turning and making a mad dash for the party. But many of the mad men and women were ripped to shreds. The one's that never suffered a head or neck injury crawling behing the runners.

James seemed cool, as he dropped. His first shot nailing the runner in the lead. His second hitting a woman with a bit of a limp, but it penetrated and killed another man who had not yet turned towards the acolytes.

Faith who was almost to the the horde, was about to meet the people running towards her. A tall man with long blonde hair was less then 10 yards from her. He would be in range in in under a second. Plus many more only seconds later.

Shouts could be heard from inside the building. as many more men could be seen swarming onto the roof, laying down a great torrent of fire into the horde.

Landing gracefully [occ] Feel free to rectify that if necessary Nightwalker [/occ] Faith began sprinting back the way she came.

Victorinus cursed the girl's stupidity and drew his two pulse pistols, firing them into the oncoming crowd methodically, picking each target and sending a pulse screaming towards their head.  Jinxy's neck quills flared up entirely, creating a fan around her head as she opened her jaws and screech-hissed a long challenging battle call.

Maruis seeing noone else falling back stopped backpedaling and glanced behind him to see if anything was creeping up on the teams rear. If there is something, he will identify it and shoot if it is a creature or call to it if it is a normal human. If there isn't anything, he will turn back towards the crowed and begin firing from a standing position. He tried to be as accurate as possible, but he was shaking slightly and firing fairly quickly. James swore under his breath and kept fireing, keeping a steady rythem of shots flying into the mass. He tried to aim for those closest to their group but the mass of bodies were ever shifting and wether the shots hit home only the Emperor [ooc: AKA Nightwalker] could say if he had had any lasting effect.

As he fired, he scanned the limited area he could see with his scope, hoping to locate a barricade or other relativly low obstical which he could crouch behind to reload. He knew his powerpack could not last forever and wanted some protection when it ran low.

Faith succeeded in her back flip, killing one man by severing his spinal cord. But as she ran she tripped over a rock. The Thane threw the metal cylinder into the incoming horde; it produced a small explosion that peppered the surrounding horde with bird shot and fleches. Killing a small number of them. He stepped over faith with his activated power sword to protect her, but she would need to act fast.

Shea’s Heavy Bolter seemed to do a lot of good, tearing and ripping the horde apart. It didn’t necessarily kill them, but it did take away any kind threat they possessed. Even the small red beam emerging from his heavy weapon managed to kill one of the things.

As devastating as Shea’s fire was, some were bound to get through. But these were quickly put down by James and his precision firing. Each time he fired there was one less enemy that need be worried about. He also noticed a small wooden stall less than 4 yards ahead of him that would work.

The Marshall’s fire was spectacular to look at, every time he fired a pulse of blue energy tore through the horde, Killing large numbers at a time. But at the sound of the battle call the last of the people in the street turned and ran towards the group.

Marius was in the rear of the group scanning for targets trying to flank them, just as he was about to turn around he saw two men running at them. Since one was missing an arm he assumed they were creatures and fired for the first. He easily scored a head shot and it went down. But as he turned towards the second it dropped behind some rubble.

Even more shouting could be heard from the shrine, and two dozen men in white helmets could be seen on top now, Along with a dozen or so other people. They appeared to be cheering while laying down a huge volume of las fire, killing many of the farthest creatures.

James grinned with satisfaction as his shots blasted the creature's heads from their bodies... Then cursed as his rifle stopped firing. A warning beep sounded from the hotshot pack attatched to the gun, indicating that it was low on power and becoming unstable. Realising this, james rose into a crouch and combat-rolled towards the stall, his back [ooc: hopefully] slamming into its wooden side as he smothly reached into his pack for fresh ammo. With his other hand he drew his knife, just in case...

The Marshall stood in an awkward position like a statue. Thankfully none of the crazies were near him at the time. [OOC] hehe [OOC]
Faith and the Thane together tried to fight off the crazies with their power swords, Faith quickly removing the heads of the first three she met. The fourth man she cut downwards slicing it into two clean halves. The Thane also did well, his Rapier obviously for more than decoration. His expert dueling skills dispatched two quickly with thrusts to the eyes, despite the apparent uselessness of such precision with a power weapon.
Shea was still putting a heavy rain of fire into the running horde, at least half of which was now gone between the heavy fire on both sides. He stumbled over a rock but was able to keep his footing, but two men were able to break past the comrades and made a break for James. Who had just performed an excellent and smooth reload.
Marius reloaded and watched the small pile of rubble the man had hid behind. Seeing how he didn’t come out, he must just be hiding behind it. But no other movement could be seen, other then a little dust and trash moving through the air.
Nothing new could be seen on the roof. The excitement and cheering still continuing along with a heavy dose of las fire. But you could easily tell now at least three dozen people were up there.

James swore as he saw the two creatures charging towards him. Knowing he would not have time for precision work, he dropped the rifle which swung loose on its strap and drew his pistol.
With his other hand, he grabbed the knife off of the floor before standing with his body at right angles to the aproching zombies.
He held his right arm rigid and stared down it momenterily, taking hasty aim as he fired three shots towards the heads of each of the aproaching things.

[ooc: the below happens if they dont die]

Leman and Faith continue to hold of the quickly shrinking horde from the rest of the group. It was a wearing fight for the two of them, the men and women being so fast it was hard  to kill them before they could touch the two of them. Faith even saved the Thane once by killing one that nearly got behind him.

Shea was obviously the most effective tool of destruction, his heavy bolter ripping the swarm apart. But he did notice it didn't kill them all. Many were now crawling towards him now with whatever they had left. They were not close enough yet to hurt him, but he would need to do something soon.

James fired true killing the first creature, all three rounds hitting the human in whatever was left of its head since the first round caused it to explode. The second monster, was quite a bit closer now. Instead of shooting it, James drew his combat knife quickly and shoved it into the eye socket of the thing. It fell over dead instantly.

Marius watching the rubble closely saw the head start to rise slowly over it....

The Marshall started to ride around behind Faith and Leman making sure nothing got passed them.

Faith performed flawlessly beheading the last two people coming after her, followed by killing three crawlers. Her first two crawler kills shoving her knives through the brain stem, the third crushing the skull under her heel.

James left the knife in the eye of the dead man. He started to walk up to some of the remaining nondead and fire what was left of his revolver point blank into the heads of them.

Shea slows his high rate of fire and starts firing at them individually in short bursts.

The Marshall seeing it is all taken care of rides up next to the Thane who had just sheathed his sword. Both of them ready to meet the couple of men walking from the Shrine towards them. The one on the right appeared to be a sergeant of the PDF, the one in the center a confessor, and the one on the left was a young burnette of unknown station.

The sergeant had a Bolt pistol on his right hip and a chainsword on his left, he was wearing a white flak vest and helmet. The confessor was in gold and white robes, on his left hand was a heavy gold ring depicting the emperor’s throne. He had an ornate power sword that appeared to be some relic, and a large laspistol of an ancient design. Finally the lady, wearing black shorts and a red sleeveless shirt. She was carrying a compact lasgun, and had a small caliber auto-pistol on her hip.

The confessor came forward at once, “I’m father Woodward, caretaker of the golden throne. This is Sergeant Berring of the local PDF. Finally this is Doctor Alice from the upper hives.”

James was forced back to reality as he heard his revolver click empty. He had not been involved in close-quarter combat in many years and had found himself overwealmed by the adrenaline rush it brought. So much so that he had found himelf abandoning a realativly safe location to get closer to the enemy. The God Emperor had smiled upon him however as he registered that the undead seemed to have been killed (again...) and he noticed his knife still sticking out of a corpse's eye. He walked back to retreive it before reloading his revolver.

Upon finishing his tasks he stood up strait and took in his surroundings. The buildings on either side held no interest for him at the moment, so he will make his way over to where the Thane stood talking to the strangers, interested in their answers to his companion's questions.

The looters find that the shops closer to the shrine are pretty high end. They contained everything from oil paintings of the emperor and his astartes to small solid gold and silver statues of the golden throne and the silver space marines inside the shrine. They even found a small convenient store type location that had everything from pic recorders to lho-sticks. (PM what you want to grab. Then you can put it in your post)

Alice rolled her eyes at the marshal, obviously she had suffered through a lot of guys hitting on her recently. But she still replied “there is strong whisky and wine in the shrine. Tell them I sent you and they will gladly open you a bottle.”
As all this was going on the Thane and the cleric continued to speak. “Father, we are on a mission for the mighty emperor to investigate what has happened here. How long has this been going on? Also, what started it?”

‘Awe yes, praise the emperor. Well it started about four weeks ago, somewhere in the upper hives. I don’t know how, but that is where you might find your answer. But please come join us, we were about to serve dinner. Also my flock will want to celebrate the ridding of that horde of zombies that has had us trapped in here for a week.”

The Thane looks to the marshal next to him, “I’ll let you decide Victorinus. Shall we celebrate with these people?”

"Well the way I see it, we ain't got much t' celebrate now.  Our job's just gettin' started; wouldn' wanna get premature on ourselves yknow?"

He tipped his hat to to the doctor, "You've my thanks little miss."

At this he rode Jinxy over to the shrine and scrounged up a bottle of whiskey, stowing it in his pack for later after taking a tiny nip of it.

[OOC] Oops sorry. I meant to put that in :-[ [OOC]

The priest looked at the woman before him. "Yes my dear, as a confessor for our benevolent emperor. May he rain for ever. I must give everything to him. I can not expect my followers to give penance if I do not give it myself."

Faith drew her knife in a quick motion and slit her own palm. Then she held the blade to the priest, fully expecting him to do the same, and to mingle their blood together in greeting.

Maruis searches the stores looking for anything useful. Laughing he picks up a straightrazor just incase they get stuck here and he needs to shave. He also crams a decent amount of power bars into his pack and begins to naw on one.

Then figuring that maybe that maybe there could be some guns in the stores he begins to look. To his suprise he finds the scene of a bloody fight in one of the shops. The creatures mauled the corpse so bad it couldn't turn back alive-and they was a pump action shotgun lying not too far away. Maruis picked it up. It appeared to be a twelve guage and after unloading it he found it had 5 unfired shells. He then loaded the shotgun figuring that maybe one of the priests wierd people would offer some cool gadget or weapon for it.

Maruis then makes his way back to the Thane and says, "Hey, while you guys are chattin can I go see if any of this guys followers have anything to trade for this shotgun I found?

[OOC]Don't worry I asked if I could find the shotgun.[OOC]

The Priest grabbed the knife from Faith before she slit her hand. "I know what you are trying to do. But i cannot allow it for two reasons. The first the scent of fresh blood would bring in more of these abominations. The second is we must keep are hands in the top most able condition to serve the emperor in these troubling times."

The marshall and Marius were both allowed to enter. When they went through the front door the first thing they saw was a giant gold statue of the emperor in his throne. Lining the walls leading up to it were solid silver statues of the adeptus astartes. The sight was stunning in its beauty, despite the heavy bolter that was mounted in front of the emperor facing the door. An obvious precaution in case the beasts bust through.

A crowd of people ran to them thanking them for their help. Young girls kissing their cheeks, small presents of tokens and trinkets being pressed into their hands. Marius easily found willing traders, he is able to trade for a laspistol with a fully charged pack, a long silver knife, an incense burner, a scroll of holy text, bottles of amasec, fine thick cigars, or a short chain knife. While Victorinus quickly found a large bottle of fine whiskey.

The Thane went in after the looters, hugely pleased with what he found. he walked arond with practiced eyes, and an oil painting and a small set of little statues soon found themselves in his duffle bag.

It wasn't long before the group was ready to leave outside of the building though, with reports of the monsters first appearing in the upper hives.

Maruis looks fondly at the long silver knife he had traded for. [OOC]How long is the knife's blade and does come with a sheath?[OOC] He walks out of building shortly after trading for it. It felt good in his hand and he knew he would get the chance to test it out on some of the abominations.

"Good sense that,"  Victorinus gestured to the heavy bolter with his newfound bottle of whiskey and looked around at the people greeting them.

Any who tried to press further gifts upon him or tried to touch him at all were gruffly brushed away with a grumble.

"Anyone here know where in the Emperor's name the food is?"

Faith glowered at the priest, "If you will not pay now, then you must pay tenfold latter. As He watches and sees all, so you shall be judged."

As she entered the stronghold, she noticed the throngs of people, and quietly slipped off into the shadows unnoticed. She soon found what she sought, and the young couple were presently offered a choice - either consummate their relationship, or she would give them as an offering. The blood would flow either way. Tearfully, they took the only option that would allow them their lives.

When Faith meet up with the rest of the group, she was the last to arrive, appearing amidst them as a shadow would detach itself from a wall.

James loitered near the door of the cathedral, keeping watch for the possible return of the undead hoard. He felt mildly unconfortable here and wished to leave as soon as possible, although he could not pinpoint the reason for his anxiety. To releive his stress, he began to clean and reload his pistol.

The Marshall was lead up a stair case behind the massive throne, that took him to what must be where all the ecclesiarchy had lived. Sitting at a long wooden table he was brought a small bowl full of a white grain. Along with that he was brought a small shot of tonic. “Sorry we can not offer more, we are short on food and ammo from the siege you just saved us from.” It was about then he saw a young couple pass by him with the girl crying..
The rest of the group was standing by the great doors plotting a route to the upper hives, where it was rumored the abominations had come from. But to their surprise the light dimmed and flickered suddenly. “What in the emperor’s name is going on?!” The keeper of the golden throne shouted.
A few seconds passed while everyone looked around in disbelief, before all light vanished. Leaving the humans in complete and utter darkness, with only the screams of the people in the building to guide them..

"They come" Faith pronounced in a sing-song voice, "They come to be judged, and to judge. Oh, most beautiful, most precious, and most holy Emperor above; guide my blades"

So saying, Faith drew a dagger in one hand, and the sword in the other.

"Let the blood spill, let the innocence be tested, let the guilty perish, and let the unclean be washed anew in their own life fluids!" Her prayer became a shout, and her voice which would inspire her fellow assassins, let chills down the spines of those around her.

She eased towards the door from which they entered, and listened intently. At the sound of any motion, she was ready to strike.

"Be still," she whispered to all around her, "or you may prove your guilt by my blades. Be still. Be still. Be still."

[occ] Am I correct in thinking that the actions of the young couple that Faith... encouraged... helped bring about this attack? [/occ]

Maruis was standing near the exit of the building. He calmly fishes his flashlight from his backpack and holds it in his left hand with his autopistol in his right. He then flips it on and begins scanning the outside of the building in case the creatures are going to attack. Damn, if these things know how to take out power sources then they probably know how to shoot weapons. But hey, maybe the power just died randomly. Who knows? Maruis thought, still remaining calm.

james calmly detatches the scope from his rifle and brings it up to his eye. He activates the night vision function and grins as the room is thrown into clarity. He begins to scan the assembled people for any signs of an attack.
With his other hand he takes the cleaning cloth out of  the barrel of his revolver and snaps it shut. He had counted four shots loaded and hoped that that would be enough

Shea realized that his Heavy Bolter would be useless in this situation and cursed. He let it rest in its sling and pulled out a shotgun from his overcoat, ready to blast away any zombies that emerged from the claustrophobic darkness.
