Size of your army/armies
« on: May 13, 2007, 03:17:18 PM »
Ok, so this leads from the old thread but is a tad more structured. I would ask that you all follow the guidelines, so that the thread becomes a bit more readable. If you can't follow the guidelines I will be forced to remove the post until you can follow them. They are for the benefit of the Community, not just me being tough on you all. :)

So, a post should be divided into three parts; painted, assembled (unpainted but playable) and unassembled (just collected). Also, please do not post pictures of your collected armies in the thread. It will bog it down quite badly. Post links if you are interested in showing the armies.
Please try to refrain from posting lists of your minis. Just stick to the points, and link out to your list in tactics or such if you feel the need to show off the list of minis you own, the weapons they carry, and so on.
Don't post "update-posts" unless you make considerable progress. Posting "Oh yeah, added 400 points to my IG!!!11!" will be considered spam. Same goes for the list of models.
Finally, only post armies you actually have, not armies you once had or armies you are planning on getting. This is supposed to be about the armies you own and play, after all.

So, on to my post, and the shiny little example to follow. :)

Painted
Craftworld Eldar 21.7k points (including 4.5k points of Harlequins) (Pictures)
DeathCompany Blood Angel Marines 2k (Pictures)
Squats 2.8k
I have some fantasy-armies as well
Dark Elves 2.2k (Pictures)
Slaanesh Daemon Chaos army 2k (Pictures)
Tomb Kings 6.2k (Pictures)
High Elves 4.6k (Pictures)

Assembled
none (I never play with unpainted models)

Unassembled
2k Tzeentch Mortal chaos (Fantasy)
another 2.5k Squats
about 3k DeathWing Marines

So get posting! :D

No pictures yet I'm afraid. I'll come back and add them as I get them uploaded (painted only) and as I complete the painting on those that are unpainted. I'll also adjust the points values for each. Yes, it may look like most of my stuff is unpainted but it really isn't.... Most of it is badly irredeemably badly painted and is waiting to be stripped for repainting. Especially the Eldar stuff.

Howdy.  Nice thread here.  Man you people have a lot of stuff.  I guess I have significantly less because I tend to paint before I get new stuff.  Rasmus:  wow that was fun.  I love the looted imperial robot.

My stuff:

Painted

3500ish points of Death Guard  Death Guard, Nurgle Vehicles, Nurgle Daemons, Nurgle Daemon Prince, Nurgle Defiler.

1850ish points of Imperial Fists  pictures

1000ish points of Tau  pictures

Teensy Wraith Guard Force  pictures

(If there are any unpainted pics in the links, I apologize.  they are mostly WIP threads.  I need to reshoot some stuff, shoot some new stuff and upload everything to the galleries here, or make some simple web pages so that I can stop linking to threads)

Unpainted/assembled

Quote from: Rasmus
none (I never play with unpainted models)
Yes.
...but, there is a very long, very quarrelsome line of miniatures waiting ever so impatiently for some paint.

500ish points of Death Guard including two rhinos, two troops, and some obliterator terminator conversions for a couple of my lords.

200ish points of Imperial Fists including mostly power armored SMs and a speeder.

200ish points of Tau

Unassembled

Multitudes of stuffs.  Loads of CSMs, box sets of this and thats used for bits, various single minis with one hand missing etc., etc.  Nothing that I could build a force out of though, no guard army all in boxes or anything like that.

Alright here it goes.  All of my models are painted since I only buy models before painting them and never more than $100 ahead unless it's a special occasion.  It usually takes me about a year to paint and convert an army during my leisure time so each one of these guys is near and dear to my heart as it represents a period of my life!

Painted 40k:
1800 Tyranids
1000 Thousand-Son Marines

Painted Fantasy:
2000 Wood Elves
2000 Lizardmen
2000 Vampire Counts

Painted:
2000 Tau
2000 Tyranids
1700 Last Chancers with Daemonhunter Allies

Unpainted:
Eighteen Grey Knights, one Grey Knight Dread, one GKGM.
Ten Genestealers, Twenty two Gaunts of differing breeds.
One Crisis Suit, one Shaper, one plastic Stealthsuit, some (basecoated) Kroot.
Will paint soon... ish, If I can drag myself away from FFXI (got SAM to 67 last night!). I don't play with what's unpainted.

Unassembled:
Oh man...
Three Tau Pihranahs, lotz of Firewarriors, two plastic Stealthsuits, more Pathfinders than I need (because I kept forgetting I bought them and kept buying more), a Devilfish, a Hammerhead, 'probably' a bunch of Kroot, an Etherial, and a Crisis suit or two. By 'probably' I mean I'd have to go digging in the corner of the basement with the spiders big enough for gobbos to ride to find out, which I don't feel like doing.

Lotz and lotz of Tallarns I bought at a GW auction. In my defence I've used a few of them as Last Chancers, but lost interest when the new guard codex came out.
A Hellhound, an artillery tank chasis, a Griffon and Bassie platform sprue.

Three Tyranid Warirors, six new Genestealers, a plastic Hive Tyrant, a new Tyrant Guard, two Biovores, 'and a winged ripper in a pear tree'.
Onager
/ˈänəjər
/Noun
An animal of a race of the Asian wild ass (Equus hemionus onager) native to northern Iran.

In other words GW are calling Tau players wild asses for wanting a melee suit option.
