These are already in the Iyanden POC thread, but I thought I'd post them here for some more feedback.

That's a unique and striking paint scheme.

Does your entire army look like that?

Excellent color scheme! I love it. My thousand sons like it too :)

Definitely very reminiscent of the Thousand Sons' scheme.  But it definitely looks very cool.  Only thing I can think of to add is some possible Egyptian iconography on the heads of the Wraithguard.  But they look awesome as is!

i like werdna's suggestion of some iconography. i once saw a wraithlord with eyes painted on it like the ancient  greek or roman triremes. you could do something similar with your wraithguard/lords with the egyptian eye like the on in your avatar (i think its egyptian correct me if im wrong)

its worth a look at in any case

Thanks for the kind comments. I think I might add some iconography once I get stuck into painting a larger % of the army. Don't wanna spend all my time on one model then be unable to reproduce it.

It was quite a long process, but I think that had something to do with it being the first model in the unit. Anyway:
  • Prime white
  • Wash with scorched brown (5:1 water:paint ratio)
  • Wash with vomit brown (2:1 water:paint ratio)
  • Basecoat with iyanden darksun (1:1 w:p)
  • Thin coat of golden yellow (1:1)
  • 50/50 highlight with bad moon yellow (2:1:1)
  • 25/75 highlight with bad moon yellow (3:1:2)
  • Pure highlight of bad moon yellow (1:1)

Hope that helps.

You are correct. This is the Eye of Horus, it's part of my sleeve tattoo on my left arm, so it's an easy point of reference  :D

Thanks again, S_C

When you say •50/50 highlight with bad moon yellow (2:1:1)
•25/75 highlight with bad moon yellow (3:1:2)
Do you mean 2 water, 1 badmoon and 1 white?

No, I mean 2 water, 1 golden yellow, 1 bad moon. Then 3 water, 1 golden yellow, 2 bad moon. Keeping a 1:1 water:paint ratio throughout (roughly).

Sorry if this wasn't clear :)
