I've split the discussion on Jetbikes and moved it to 40K Rules and Questions.  Please continue that discussion over there: Jetbikes, Battle Focus, and Shooting :).

Yes, i was thinking that for the points of a single vyper I can get a few more wind runners in each troop choice.

ps i love the wraithknight model. Would be it be viable to try and sneak him into a 1k list?

farseer (bike, spear, stones)

4 windriders (scatter) & warlock
4 windriders (scatter) & warlock
4 windriders (scatter)

Prism

wraithknight (2 scatters)

OR for the same financial outlay, i could buy another starter box and add 3 more windriders with a warlock and another prism

You could fit a wraithknight in if you're not interested in making friends at 1000pts  :P ;)

A WK comes in at 295 but they are not a friendly model to field.

Welcome to the arms race :)

WK are very nice, but maybe better for when you and your friends are ready for 1.5K points, by that stage they should have built up a decent amount of mid to high strength weapons so it will not be as OP.

Take a look at the WraithLord, probably one of the most over looked goodies in our codex at the moment. You can field it in multiple configs, from carrying  multiple heavy weapons, to a nasty close combat unit. You can even configure it to do a bit of both. It can soak up a lot of fire and can fit in low point games.

Check out Cavalier's project thread, he has some battle reports fielding it.
