Compilation of Painting Techniques
« on: February 25, 2005, 05:03:34 PM »
Hey there! I wanted to compile together various painting techniques in one area for everyone to view, instead of having to search everywhere. I felt i needed to contribute something to this great site so i did, a place to store all the painting techniques we find in one place, for people to look at. The number of stars next to each title tells how hard each technique is, 0=easy, 1=moderate, 2=not to hard, 3=hard

Thanks for kicking this thread off and  posting those links Raven. Most exellent. ;D
I just got started with 40K after painting D&D mini's for awhile. It's nice to see a compiled list of sites instead of hunting endlessley for them. If i find any link that's useful and not already here i'll surely post it.
I'm starting with tyranids and lord there's alot of them. it was hard to actually find a paint scheme that i liked. I eventually caved and copied the 40K rule book "eavy Metal" scheme for the most part and i'm satisfied with the results so far
Maybe an additional tread with links to paint schemes for different races/armies would be great to have here.
(and this is my first post since i have no real input on most topics yet)

Thanks again.

1 terme down 31 to go.

Hey Raven, just wanted to give you a heads up. All the links to imaginate now link to a doll page. Not sure if that's what they should link to, but I thought I would let you know.

Could anyone point me to a site that helps with painting yellow? Not a bright yellow, but a dirty, browner based yellow for my orks.

All of the www.imaginate.net links should be changed to www.how-to-paint-miniatures.com instead.  My domain registrar somehow monkeyed things up and sold the domain to someone selling dolls.  Grrr!  Oh well, I have a better domain name now anyway.  Sorry for the confusion!

Take Care!

anyone got any guides on how to paint things like camera lenses, well not camera lenses, but things like the eye pieces on firewarriors and the cockpit window on a hammerhead/devilfish, and stuff like that, right now all what i do is put down a single solid color, but i know others blend colors and such to make it look like there is a glare on one side of the lens so it looks more realistic...
