What exactly is this weapon?  I'm asking because I want to do my own conversion of captain tycho but I don't know how to model this weapon.  I thought of using a powerfist, but if I did that then it wouldn't be wysiwyg legal. Any ideas?

This question came up a while ago, here, and the consensus was that the Dead Man's Hand is ... well, his left hand. There was a mention of digi-lasers last time too.
