I'm just wondering if you think it's easier or better to do it one way or another.

I always paint 'em after... 'course, this may be due to the fact that I solder my pewter models together...

you kind of have to paint the turret and the tank of grav-tanks upart. I dont have mass troops in my eldar army, but in my tyranids army i do this: lay out all your little buggers on a box and paint them a light color like bleached bone, preferably using a spray can. Affter the bugs dry, dust over them using a darker color like chaos black in a can. I painted all of my tyranids in about 10 min total, over a period of like 3 hours. they look sic cool though. (wait i did paint teethe and eyes and talons and stuff other colors too.) so it was like an hour of my life whasted.

How come I cant vote a plain before or after?

i always paint them before puting them together that way i don't have to go into those small places while they are together. then after they are put together i go to those places that i didn't know were gonna show and paint them but that is easy cuz its just a small spot. bye

Most of the time I paint mine afterward, but it depends on how the assembled model will look. If the position of the arms/legs will make it difficult to paint the body then it will be painted partially assembled. Most of my gaunts were done partially assembled because the legs got in the way of painting the underbelly.

always after, that way i can use a spray paint so i dont have to hand paint a basecoat on 120 miniatures!
