farseer in falcon or not
« on: September 18, 2007, 05:51:13 PM »
i am getting ready for a battle agasint my friend who plays SOB and i have been thinking if i should keep my farseer and his sqd of 4 warlocks inside a falcon to keep them warm and safe or keep them out.

the up side of having them inside a falcon is that he wouldnt be killed by anything (SOBs or an assasian) but then i cant use the phyhic powers. any suggestions?

If you want to keep him an a falcon why do you field one at all? If you meant to unload him and attack it's a bad idea, as he and the 'locks will be one round without fortune, quite deadly.

Why not just put him on the field without the retinue? Then he can't be hit (unless he's the closest model).

The original poster didn't say anything about fortune.

In my expirence.  If your farseer has either mind war or eldritch storm.  A transporting it is fine.

Four psychic attacks?  Do you mean powers, or perils of the warp?

What are you doing with a farseer with four powers that can only cast two?  Even eldrad can only cast three.  You might want to first decide what your farseer's role in your army is first.

The key to eldar is to pick something and do it well, trying to do everything is inefficient at best and cataclysmicly disasterous more often than not. A farseer in a transport is not doing his job. Your paying for those powers you need to use them whenever it's advantageous. guide/fortune and doom/mind war are the obvious options, but dont discount eldrich storm for spinning tanks to get at the tasty poorly armored backsides. And remember if you are using 2 powers a turn that runs you higher risks of instant death from a perils of the warp hit
