Not really.  The Eldar refer to something emerging from Vauls Forge called "The Dragon".  This has been assumed to be a hidden C'Tan on Mars, but there's currently nothing else to confirm the name.

No-one knows for sure, but I'd wager at about 50,000 years.

They didn't want to become Necrons, they wanted to become immortal so that theycould wipe out the Old Ones.  The C'Tan tricked them into becoming the Necrons - essentially wiping out the Necrontyr race.

Well, I hate to argue, but I must protest at answers 5 and 1;  

In the Necron codex, it clearly implies that the human race have encountered the Nightbringer - calling it the Reaper.  Allowing for the fact it's the 41st millenium, the human race has only been in existance for 200,000 years, and have only been keeping records for about 50,000 years (hence my guess).

Also, as both myself and C'Tan man pointed out, the only reference to 'Dragon' is in a transaltion from the Eldar language - not a direct refernce to a name.

there is a Ctan named the dragon the four C'tan that are left are Nightbringer, Deceiver, the Outsider and the Dragon. and the Necrons have been asleep for 60 billion years cause the old ones fought them then the daemons came from the warp and the necrons went into there stasis tombs to avoid the daemons plus even the staff in the GW say the two answers are correct plus it says in the codex that they have been asleep for 60 billion years.

Okay, the univers has only existed for 4 billion years, so where EXACTLY are you getting 60 billion from?  I want a page number here....

Okay, it is 60 million years, not 60 billion.  I believe the original Necron fluff (pre-codex) stated they were in tombs for 60 million years (though I don't have the Necron codex in front of me to point out the page number, though I remember reading it in there too)

60 million years is still a really long time.  Average human life span is 80 years or something like that right?  So the Necrons were in stasis for 75000 average human life spans!  Compare that to the "short and uncertain" lifespan of a Necrontyr, and "lifespans riven from cradle to grave with constant loss" I'd wager than it is equal to at least 135000 average Necrontyr lifespans.  60 million years is still an immensly (sp?) long time, and 60 billion years would be ridiculous, in conjunction with that the universe has only been around 3-4 billion years (I think that is what it said in an article I read in Time magazin).
