Good colour scheme, I like it. First off: Why does that guy look like he is holding a cup of tea? :p Secondly: I like the different placement of the guns. Reminds me of an AA setup or something.

there the sentinel drivers grips, not a cup of tetleys!!!!  :D

im loving the colour scheme you've done, will you be having human-sized infantry to go with those fantastic ratlings? i suppose you could always use the abhumans doctrines to field a platoon of ratties.

Very cool. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for basic troops and officers.

Very nice so far  :)

What is that sentinel with the 4 stubbers actually armed with?  Is it an "opponent's permission" model, or is that a "counts as" autocannon or something?

Its a nice conversion, I just don't really understand it, is all. 8)

Ok, just a quickie as i'm running l8 for lecture. Managed to take a bad pic of the ratling commando. If i fail to make a platoon of these he will take an honourary place in my HQ squad.

Also, why were half-tracks built? what benefit do they have over tanks or trucks? easier to build/maintain? quicker? etc i'm kitbashing a few and need a reason why they're taken over chimeras?

@Dr_Ruminahui, I just use it as a counts as autocannon I shouldn't think anyone would have a problem with it so long as i explain etc, however with apocalypse isn't there an AA setup/addition, in which case i'd probably use it as that depending on the level of aerial assault i face.

Cheers me ol' china plates

Halftracks were used as a truck with better offroad performance, pretty much every army (apart from the Israelis) abandoned them after WW2 in favour of the full tracked APC.

yeah im intrigued by the quad cannon sentinel too! i really like it but im just wondering what it represents.

half tracks eh? im intrigued by those, done a bit of research myself as im hoping to do some half tracks for my blood pact myself, let me know how you get on, i'd love to take some cues from you as to how your doing them...

loving the rattie commando by the way!

Ok, well my my mass of cadian sprues finally arrived (hurragh), so finished this little guy off quicksharp

and then got cracking on the bread and butter of the guard army, the Leman Russ

as well as a mock up for the heavy weapon teams, there'll be plenty of cover but no cover save  :(

stay tuned cos gfs off on holiday for a week, which means (outside of lectures, drinking, socialising with things not made of plastic) i can devote the week to modelling. Tonite aim, kitbash a half-track from old-skool rhino as well as whatever takes my fancy

ok, well stuck to my promise, and i present the halftrack. Shorter and narrower than the conventional chimera this vehicle is ideal transport in the derelict, dark and narrow streets of the hive world.

what do you guys think, can it be improved in any way?

Thats awesome! I can't imagine 10 men fitting inside the thing, maybe command squads and hardened vets.

I can imagine people hanging off the sides though  :D maybe some frame on the top to grab onto would be cool and you could have a couple of models riding on top.

I like the lascannon on the russ too, simple idea but it gos a long way to bringing the model up to date.

wow! - im well into that half track raukov! it looks about the same size as a FW centaur, which has a transport capacity of 6 if i remember rightly.

nice use of the wartrak bitz to the rear, and the russ sponson too, i barely noticed it at first!

i did wonder how that would turn out.

@syphon i picture the 'beep beep!' scenario too, remind me of the kids programme Brum for some reason.

if its missing anything, possibly some mud guards to the sides of the front wheels.

I think that those bases are too cluttered, but to each his own. :D

personally I love the bases, finally a army that isn't based on a grassy field but smack dab in the middle of a city. Whats the fluff for your army?

I really like the cover on the heavy weapons teams

I am not sure about the 4 guns on the sentinel though......was there a specific reason for the added weapons?
