USF 1000 pts
« on: June 27, 2003, 11:34:30 AM »
This is my 1000 pt USF vs. Tau and Necrons.

Seer Council -235
Seer Council- 90
Farseer w/ ccw, pistol, mindwar, runes of witnessing -22
Farseer w/ ccw, pistol, fortune, runes of witnessing, Wraithgate -87
Warlock w/ augment, pistol, ccw, and runes of witnessing -12
Warlock w/ augment, pistol, ccw, and runes of witnessing -12
warlock w/ embolden, pistol, ccw -12

10 Banshees -160

11 Black Guardians -88

11 Black Guardians -88

15 Black Guardians -120

1 Vyper -105
 Vyper, Ctm, Brightlance

1 Vyper -105
Vyper, Ctm, Brightlance

2 Support Batteries -100
2 D-cannons

1001 Total

The 2 vypers, seer council, and 15 man guardian squad will start, and banshees and other guardians and D-cannons will come through the portal. I still haven't decided what kind of guardians to have, but most likely defenders.

The seer council FOFs up the field to a good position with the guardians screening (err... guarding...yeah thats it!  ;) ) The 2 vypers pop in and out form behind cover and snipe the tanks. Once the portal is opened, the guys mop up, with D-cannons taking out troublesome targets like battlesuits.

Suggestions? I thought maybe I could lose a vyper for some more troops, or to get warlocks for the guardians.

Your list is a bit hard to read when you post more lists you should put the # of units first and the total points later cuz it looks like your saying 160 banshees...

Something I have noticed is that many other posts suggest putting d-cannon's in the webway. Why is that? Consider this:  If you play on a standard table where on the average you start 24" apart (4' x 6') your D-cannons could normally reach someone by turn 2 if they start on the board. If you drop the webway on turn 1 (normally not a good idea), and you roll for them to appear at the start of tunr 2 (reserves rule) and they do (even with a waystone re-roll you sre still looking at a 66% chance) they can't shoot until turn 3 because they count as moving.  Am I not seeing something here?

If the D-cannons come out with your troops, it will be able to support them well. Anything that troubles them (like hopping crisis suits) can be killed with the D-cannons.

Thats what I think anyways...
