You mean the dimond plated explorer  ;)

Yes its awsome, but its far bigger and uncomfortable than the regular Explorer. Realy I tried it once, and it was huge, a bit hard to play on standing.

But I love the regular Explorer, the tone is awsome, the feel is great, looks are great, and I feel pretty comfortable too.  So black it is i guess  :)

All of this talk about Explorers,..

Like I said in my first post, my workhorse guitar is an Ibanex X-Series Destroyer pretty similar to an Explorer (only cooler  8))

If by cooler, you mean like in a Def Leppard panzyish sort of way, yeah. jk, heh.

yes Eldanesh, i figured that much! thanks for the idea!  ;D
Seriously I would never buy a guitar for its looks, the looks come second. Thats why i said I loved the sound and the tone of an Explorer.  And its in my price range, well will be  ;).

Sounds better than a junk esp or a gibson? Pop a really good pu in almost any guitar and it won't sound that bad.

My suggestion - go to E-Bay and type in 'Turser' in the search line. Jay Turser are friggin' great and you won have to take out a line of credit to get one. The red Les Paul in my first post pic was a Turser. I swear by 'em now.

Here's a novel idea; Buy the one that SOUNDS the best,..heh,. ;)

obviously sound is all important unless you're buying a stage guitar - most venues won't get you studio quality sound - so in which case, choose what looks/feels best on stage. Its all about a nice big piece of tone wood with emg pick-ups

if i wanted to get picky i'd say go for neck-thru guitars for more natural sustain, but then it depends exactly wat sound you want to make

ugh! jay turser? gag me with a fork! those things are crap

care to clarify your comments a little more? WHY are they 'crap' ?

I found a good use for my telecaster  ;D, it seems to do great in performance for melodic metal.
I love melodic metal, what I usually play  ;). Stuff like Rhapsody and  Iced Earth.
Melodic metal sometimes is hard to do and requires good aqustics and clean guitar once in a while, and switching quickly from clean to distortion (and sounding good while doing so  ;)).
Also this style of metal most of the time uses normal tuning, which in my opinion telecaster plays better on.

I will soon get a pic of my tele soon. I had to replace the picguard back to the old one, my other black one craked (dont ask why  ???).

The whole point of Metal for guitar is to be all over the place the only really person you need to keep on Beat with is the Drummer and in Metal Rock that isn't very hard !  ;)

How is Melodic metal a joke Nevlan? ???

Opeth, for instance, is Melodic Metal, just listen to Deliverance.. every two minutes it switches from Death Metal to calm, soothing classical stuff...
___________________ ___________________ _________________

I finally decided on the amp I'm going to buy. For around $500 American (about $700-$750 Canadian) I can get a Peavey Classic 30.

-30 watt
-Three 12AX7 preamp tubes (I LOVE Tube amps ;D)
-3-band passive EQ
-Push boost switch
-Effects Loop
-2 Channels

I think I'll get the Digitech Metalmaster this month (big pay day coming up ;D), and I'll get this amp next year. I wanted to upgrade my guitar, but just today it doned on my that my guitar was the last thing I upgraded, and I don't need to do that two times in a row without getting a better amp or pedal.

The only problem with the Classic 30 is that its speaker won't be too much more resilient than the one I have now, and will problably crap out in a few years. However, after I buy my guitar (next on the list following the amp), I think I'm just going to replace the speaker with a Celestione or something that'll last a while.

Alright he listend!  ;) Good job, hope you enjoy the wonders of guitar, but stay with it, the first few months are going to be rather disapointing. After you get the hang of it, then its a piece of cake  ;)
Great start for a guitar! right on man!

By the Way, my first and recent is a Telecaster. But ohhh wait till I get my Explorer (ohhh I long for it  :-[)
