Brands of White Paint

Has anyone tried other brands of white paint (water based craft paints) that cover better than GW white?

you could always try higher pigment paints that are like the foundation paints. P3 and vallejo would be good places to start.

In principle you can always use studio acrylics. Normally they have waaaaay higher pigment contents then our paint. Golden and Liquitex are good

Yes i have tried a few.

Vallejio tends to be a little too shiney. With O.K coverage
Hubarol arcylic white waterbased is also a little shiney. It's a little thick and has poor coverage.
GW white has a satin finish. It can have variable consistancy. Sometimes It will cover well, best used over a Light undecoat of light grey. Works best at milky consistancy in many thin layers.

tamilya alchol based white is the best i have used. Again it's a satin finish. But the overall coverage is great. Works best if thinned a little, and you have a nice pot of ispropanol for watering it down as it dries extremely fast on the pallete.

I have had extensive experience with liquitex.  I have to say the white is quite good.
