my friend says tau are the best because of their fluff and units
Eldar ARE better than Tau:
Fluffwise:
They had an EMPIRE a while ago, while the Tau
just evolved from four-legged beasts.
The Eldar have decades millenia of experience in war. the Tau...what...5000 years?
The Eldar fluff is also muuuuch cooler (Khaine, the War in heaven, Asuryan, The Old Ones, C'tan, Slaanesh, their Fall, Craftworlds, Spiritstones, Wraithbone, Architecture,.....)
Lookswise:
It is a draw. If you take a look at the Tau space ships in their Codex, the Eldar ones look weird (BFG) and sadly there is no artwork on Eldar ships in our Codex save the Craftworlds themselves...which are not really my taste lookswise.
Tau guns, battlesuits etc. hjave a plain, cool futuristic clean design, while at some parts the Eldar "exaggerate" things with too many curves and decortaions.
Gamewise:
Tau rock at shooting, suck at CC. Eldar rock at both shooting AND CC. And our units are not more fragile than Tau! Except the Guardians and Rangers' 5+ save, everyone else has a 4+ save or better. We don't have a single 6+ save unit, in comparison to the Kroot, being part of Tau.
The Eldar also have a vaast variety of choices, upgrades and options to make, thus being unpredictable. We can change tactics in the middle of battle and guided by our bloodthirsty Avatars and Farseers, who turn the tide of battle, we are much cooler.
