From the original post:

I just picked up the game because my roommate plays and he convinced our other roommate and myself that we should too. I found some great deals on tyranid peices and have gotten over a 1500pt army in less than a month for about $140. Now I have started to paint all my miniatures and I figured that I would share.

Welcome to the hobby.

I'm pleased you chose nids, they're my favourite. Excellant first models aswell. In fact I think they're the best first models I've seen in ages from someone. Sand and paint the bases and they'll be better then what most vets churn out.

Well done.

Thanks Gareth.

I always enjoyed doing models and whatnot back in the day but its been years since I have done anything like this and honestly probably never on this scale. The detail on the guys are all insane if you want to do them all perfectly.

Thank you for the compliment! I do plan on finishing off the bases soon I just need to figure out what exactly I want to do with them pick up the stuff and find the time to do it.

I agree with Gareth, this is better than average quality. So being your first models every this is some really amazing stuff :)

But be prepared for a never ending journey to perfect your painting techniques ;)

If that's your first time painting, then I'd practice and go for a job at GW 'eavy Metal ^.^
Look great! Let's see the rest now ( BACK TO WORK! )

Pretty darn good for a first time. I've been trying to perfect my 'nid painting skills for a long time.

Thanks everyone.

I just finished my Lictor today as well as a Hormagaunt that I decided to do quickly. I'm gonna go mess around with some more guys for a bit but maybe later tonight I will take some pictures of what ever I finished and let you all see some more stuff.

One thing I know I need to do is get some Matt Finisher so the metal guys don't keep chipping and needing to be touched up! Oh and Bases... I'll get to those eventually.

Edit: Just posted it! Let me know what you think!

Lookin' good, the Hive Fleet Kraken color scheme is always a winner.  Kinda hard to tell from pics, but perhaps a brown wash of some kind on the skin to add more texture?  Sometimes works to wash, then drybrush with the original base color.

Yea I really have to read up on the ways to actually paint the guys. Not to mention learn more about how to play.

I just finished my first of five warriors, based a few guys, and worked on my small piece of terrain

I'm going to go crash but I will update when I get up with a few pictures.

Took longer than promised however there are new pictures of all the fun stuff I have been working on over the past day and a half.

I got distracted by working on some terrain and the basing of all my guys but I also got one Warrior closer to my Winter Painting Challenge vow.

Wow, very good for your first time! Kudos to you. The paint scheme is very clean and it looks good, though a dark wash over the skin would give it a more "fleshy" look. But regardless, it's awesome.
