Sorry if this is a no brainer but how many wave serpents can each craftworld take, and what slot in the force organization chart do they fill?

They count as part of whatever you selected it with

For example, it you select it with a Guardian Squad, then it just counts as part of the same troop choice they do

There are no restirctions among craftworld, you can take as many as you have units to put them in, except Ulthwe Strike Force, where you can't take any

Wave serpents are an upgrade to certain squads, as listed in the codex.

All Transports are considered squad upgrades. They are an upgrade to a SINGLE squad (per Wave Serpent, of course), and may interact with, as a transport, that squad only. Therefore, a Wave Serpent purchased as a transport (read: upgrade) for a squad of Howling Banshees may carry those Howling Banshees, and ONLY those Howling Banshees, even if they die.
Restrictions are, as stated, in the Codex (IE: Guardian squads may only take them if they meet the maximum squad size as stated).

finally, do not get confused as one person at my club did and think you can buy them as heavy support as well. he mail ordered three before we told him he couldn't use them... :-\

So techincally, the limit is
Number of Farseer (+retinues)
+
Number of Guardiansquads without heavy weapons
+
Number of banshees/dragons/scorpions/reapers-squads
+
Number of wraithlord-squads

I think that's about it.

Lost Roads - finally released!

so the max for vanilla  is:

14 (6 guardian squads, 3 elite squads , 3 reapers, 2 HQ squads)

In case you couldnt do the math. of course, that's over 1500 points in vehicles alone, so that would be a BIG d(arn) army.

I do not believe there is ANYTHING in the Heavy Support or Fast Attach choices that are allowed to take Wave Serpents as upgrades. I do not believe Reapers are allowed to take one.
Then again, I could be wrong, as it has been a while since I took a gander at the codex.

Reapers may take a WS. (codex eldar, p16)

Of course, if you play inyanden, storm squads are fast attack. thus you could add 3 more. but to be terribly honest, this is getting kinda extreme. who has the time to play THAT big of a game, much less buy all the fricken models.

Remember that the Scorpion is a Super Heavy, and requires it's own Force Org chart to field. If you are playing with only ONE chart, he will have NOTHING else other than 1-3 Scorpion SUper heavy tanks.

No. Its a dedicated transport, so it can only carry the squad it starts off with.

However Falcons, which arn't specific transports can pick up and drop off anyone as long as they arn't the specified mode;s that won't fit in the cargo area. Those models can be found in the Falcon entree.

Unfortunate really.

No -  Wraithguard can never fit inside a Falcon. They're simply too big. But I'll double check on that rule.

how bout this:

Guardian squad with star cannon , unfortunately both gunners die due to the heavy flamers of the SoB.

Technically, the Grav platform cant be hit. but now it cant be fired. Can they leave it, and dive in the falcon? (assuming #'s are sufficiently small)

Always wondered that. Never came up in a game, but it could.

I'd think not because they don't abandon there vehicles why would they abandon one of there special guns for the monkeih to pick up. But that's just from a fluff stand point but the support weapons adds points to the squad so it probably can't be ditched
