Alright, that's better. ;)

My army is passable as fully painted now! But I'm going to speed-paint a few details just so nobody tries to call me on it. Also going to repair a bit of terrain in case we need to use some of mine...

Let's not. :P

It started out as being speed-painted for one tournament, and when re-modeling it I don't consider that an excuse not to keep up the tradition.

Erriond wouldn't possibly know who anybody has drawn. Only I do.

And you might have... you might not have. But you might have...

Hi,

I'm trying to convince two of mates to come and their asking for more details.

Firstly just checking that unpainted models are allowed, as one of my fiends hasn't finished his list ?  Also how many pts are availiable for painting, and is it a "all or nothing" or sliding scale ?

Thanks

Rathstar

Well if I have I have.

I have only managed to read 5th ed cover to cover twice now, and think I get it. Thing is its the games that tell you where you don't know how to deal with something, and I haven't been able to get a game in. At all. Added to that I didn't even get any in with my current list in 4th ed....

So there's my excuse. ;)

Then again it'd be nice to see guard as 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd :D

Righty, I actually don't know how Erriond is scoring painting exactly this time round (I do general organisation, tell people where to go, what to do, etc -- Erriond does the more important tournament stuff) but it will go something along the lines of (hypothetically if a win was 3 points):

Undercoated army: 1 point
Based army: 1 point
Painted army (three colours etc): 1 point

Usually if only half your army is at one of these stages we award half points, so half your models based will be 1/2 point.

So if you have a fully based and painted army you will basically get the points for an extra win by default, which of course is very helpful in the rankings and pretty much essential if you want to come first.

However, by no means do you have to have a painted army; one of my friends who is a very good player never comes with a painted army but he just likes the challenge and to get some good games in.

Oh [beep]... I've just discovered that my list was 146pts overdrawn... >:(

And I've played that list for a month by now!  Good thing I found the error before tomorrow.  I have scrapped a unit and the list is now legal (I hope :-\).

+++ Tournament has now been held +++

I assume someone's going to put up some detailed results eventually, so could I ask that people's final score, as well as position, be posted?  (To feed my inner statistician, you understand ;))

A brief description of how the scoring worked in the end would be nice too, but since Dan had 41 (!) hidden columns in his spreadsheet, you could let us all live in ignorance! ::)

Hymirl (but don't worry, apparently he's nicer in meatspace than in cyberspace  )

Infamy, infamy, they all have it in for me!

I'd like to say it was a great event and I'll definatly be coming back for the next one, I've got a title to defend now! :D
And thanks to Hawaiian Zombie, Nny, DarkFex and Jonik for four great games...  especially to Jonik who kept a sense of humour in the face of having his army all but annilated by speeding bikers, even when I cheekly stole nearly every one of the objectives on turn 6.

White Scars; surprisingly good in 5th edition....

I think the memory of the wailing crys of "How many 6+ invulnerable saves can you make!?!" coming from the table next to me are going to give me sleepless nights.
I'm going to tell you what I tell every Dark Angels player. Keep your awesome models and your great background, accept that GW secretly hates you and just play with the rules from the new dex

Heheh, cheers! Well, after 3 wins (some decent!) I could hardly complain! Annoyingly had we finished turn 5 it'd be 2/1/1contested to you... rather than 4/0/1... Still wouldn't have got me 3rd, but what ifs are always fun ;)
