Just to confirm changing the rule for Tyranid /VDR to exclude Creature Maker not monstrous

and the Allies part,
might be me but I'm reading it that you can only not take allies as that IG can't take a unit of SM or is that not how your reading it

will change the pack after talking to the club comittee tonight and replies from you guys

The way it is written, only witch hunters and daemonhunters can take marines/guard. Where as guard/marines cannot take units from WH/DH.  It also fails to mention WH in the first part, so technically (according to the pack), I would not be allowed Daemonhunter allies, but I am allowed witch hunter...

Luckily however, they've been allowed by oink.

As for 'no monsterous creatures' - aren't half the nid list that catagory? And same with greater daemons?

yea, the monstrous creature reference is actually to the creature VDR equivalent... not "monstrous creatures"... thats just sloppy wording.

i can understand the confusion with allies... its to stop you simply mixing different armies together... which is reasonable...

im not sure how to change the wording at the moment.

No army can use allies other than that are permitted as written in Codex Daemonhunters and Codex
Witchhunters.

Thats pretty much how every rules pack I've ever read covers this .

Ugh, I suppose if somebody sent me the original copy of the pack I could edit and write it out professionally (I do now have a degree in Creative and Professional Writing) and then everybody wouldn't have to engage their brains to use some common sense.

However, I did also have a chuckle about some of the typos and problems; but at least we have it.

congrats google! and to celebrate you obviously go out and get smashed... killing off most of the brain cells that got you there in the first place!

thanks for that toasty... i couldnt engage my brain...

as mentioned earlier google, do you have the mailing list of people to contact about the tourney from the last time? it might be an idea to send them a message - email just in case they have missed the thread completely.

Been browsing through some of them . So far not to bad . Just read the toaster FAQ and they cleared up 2 tedious debates ( powerfist v 'lith and the Particle Whip Sniper Cannon ) .

Still need to read :  Guard , BT's  , 'nids and the Ordos ones .

@premetheus - you got a PM .

Sorry, missed that bit earlier! Erm, I'll see what I can ruffle up, what numbers are we looking at so far? Been so busy recently it's not funny, haven't played a single 5th edition game yet, I've barely played any 40k for the last three months which is just heresy for me. Do you think it'd be sad to try and get a game of 40k in while I'm in California for two weeks? :P

Me thinks me could be a bit rusty this tournament... second place yet again then! :( (:P).

Myself will be Tau again .

Rob I think is feeling a bit masochistic of late and might bring either Deathwing or pure Deamonhunters .

Probably Space Marines if I have enough of a force.  More likely Eldar though.
I carry with me an Inquisitorial Seal. It is a small, unassuming object contained in a neat box of Pluvian obsidian. It is a modest thing. Relatively plain, adorned with a single motif and a simple motto. Yet with this little object I can sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign a billion souls to Oblivion.

Tyranids. Like always. Next time there's a tournament, assuming I can make it down from Newcastle (on Tyne, not under Lyme), I'll have something different but for now it's the old standby
The forum rules are fair and just. *twitch*

  • Wolverine or double Batman.... you decide
i'll be bringin my Waaagh with me

umm btw, just to clarify something in the rules pack im not sure on...
mission one, point two "if a unit is within 3" of more than one objective it is only counted once"

which objective would you count it against, would it be a player decision, closest one to it or another one?

cheers

edit: having thought about the problem i've come to realise that it wouldnt matter in the slightest anyways cos its just total VP's and not contested etc so meh nevermind :P

edit 2: (sorry) another thing occurs to me, will we be using the scoring units rules that you have to kill everyone for troops in addition to having all other units score or will that be suspended in favour of having half unit strength negate scoring status for troops as well?
