Ha! It is all falling into place! Now for more important things, what to take! Oink do you know when the shop gets it's copy of 5th ed as I am in China for the release and I will want more time to mull things over and head off the beared that will no doubt spring up from little Dan and Naikee!

I think that more troops choices are in order if what I have heared about 5th ed is correct... but what to take???

Going to try and make it...hopefully no "life bowling me a bouncer" pitfalls beforehand this time. Frantically painting Space Wolves and Drop Pods, and dusting off Eldar (made almost entirely of Rogue Trader era models!!!) at the mo.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I am just on my way out to embark on a night of birthday related endulgance.

I will be back from China at the begining of August so that leaves 15 days to buy 5th ed (I don't think a chinese copy would do me much good) learn it and sort my army out... And I spose the woman will want attention too...Maybe I can get her to paint somethings... Crap

oh i have a question with regards to the new daemons will you be allowing square bases to be used in the tournie...saying this because our local GW seems to be allowing this.

Well, strictly speaking 25*25=625mm^2 And pi*12.5^2 is less than that.

So assuming they kept that ruling aout larger bases from that point of view it's legal. Then again, it is bloody awkward, well, more fiddly.

I would also like to know whether that rule has been changed, since as you know from my previous guard list and commander type unit of mine has a larger base (25->40) to show importance...

*IF* there is a strict 5th ed rule in place, will there be leniancy in the tournament? Because there is no way in hell I'm removing them from their bases...

Also, is the strength 4 defensive weapons thing true? And troops only scoring?

I think those 3 are the main issues I'm facing...

the book is so sexy... the artwork makes me need to change my pants. unfortunately, it means i dont take any of the actual rules in...

in any case, it seems as though the army lists are going to be stuck at 1500pts because there doesnt seem to be anything that drastically changes the way points affect game speed.

I have no issues with bases within reason, if you can't fit your model in the deployment zone because the base is too big then you can't put it on the table and when you deep strike it it will scatter over something and die. If the base is too small then it will fall over. Karma will keep you in line, I don't have to. Any beard related to non standard basing is against the spirit of the tournament however (Naikee this is directed at you), do not exploit the size of a non standard base to your advantage. If you opponent uses your own bases against you then so be it, thats the artistic choice you have chosen to make.
