Going on a long shot here, as we've not even got the 7th started yet but

do we want to set a definate calander date for future 40KOLF-GT's

Easter holiday
Summer Holiday
(we've also been informed that can get Bank Holidays if needed )
If we want to go that route then BFG can add it into the permanent event list

i.e 3rd Sat Feb - Winds of War
3rd Sat Mar - Winds of Magic
IRC 19th April 2009 - Easter 40KOLF-GT (8th)
3rd Sat Aug - Summer 40KOLF-GT
3rr Sat Oct - Escalation

I know not everyone has that far a calander booked or even considered but if we fit it as a regular slot ?

that would be a good idea, setting the date very early on, then people are more likely going to be able to attend them.

Ok just to clarify this is the idea of what we want to do the fine details are yet to be discussed/confirmed by you guys who run 40k online.

Hi guys yeah the pre-booking thing as mentioned is to make sure we are full thus saving you guys money, streamlining the admin process on the day (giving more time for games) but also quite importantly (for us as a club) it will mean we have money in the bank ahead of the day guaranteed.

The idea is to get people pre booked 4 weeks in advance at the latest with deposit, then fully paid up 2 weeks before if people cant stretch to paying the amount in one go. This way if anyone pulls out/doesn't show they have already paid, but more importantly means we have time to fill the slots before the day from other sources. (Also if the slot is filled after someone pulls out and they have a good reason ie. last minute work, etc... a refund minus the deposit will be given.)

One week on Monday we will know exactly how many people we can fit at an event and will post on here to let you know.

As with regards to being able to pay, we will probably accept checks, online transfers and Pay Pal (Only from bank accounts not credit or debit cards)

So just leaves me to say I’m looking forward to playing in your tournament again maybe even this time with my own models fully painted :-)

just to clarify a couple of things
"premetheus" is BFG club offical and our communications guy 

also re the money in the bank
in the old place we could pay in arreas and thus book the place and pay once every one had paid using the money collected

in our new premises we need to pay up front in full, which is a pain abit but means that club funds are used, this is not a moan but just a post to make it clear where not trying ot be akward or money grabbing

dirty money grabbers... erm... i mean... they bring up a good point that we shouldnt have to rely on the Bracknell Forest Gamers Club to financially support the events. Im okay with a pre book system and at the end of the day its really the best way forward as it has lots of advantages for everyone.

please don't think that's it a case that we have to finance it
it's just a case that in the old hall we could pay afterward this time we pay up front, all it means is that we have to divert/ allocate some clubs funds to one side for a couple of months or so

And Jonik is quite right, Cardiff has been very sunny recently.

Back to business, everything sounds good to me. The only thing I worry about this pre-booking system is a lot of the people we get to play are friends of forumers and they would be much less inclined to outright agree to play as they would want to wait for their friends decision, and if those friends can't make their mind up they don't want to go, etc. And they never really are sure who is and who isn't coming until the night before...

But, hey, we'll see what happens!

Was last year too - cardiff actually had a hot and sunny summer for a few weeks in June, unlike most other places.

Hi yeah I get the friends of friends thing the idea hopefully that by pre booking they will have to make their minds up earlier (Pull their finger out) as will fill the extra spots locally (Hopefully) in last two weeks. Also means we dont have to go uh sorry guys you all need the chip in an extra £3 because BOB Steve and.... didn't turn up

Preferably we would like cheque or direct bank transfer or cash. As paypal charges 15p each transaction + 25p if withdrawals are under £40. But paypal will be a lst option if necessary.

though as it's the 40KOLFT committee event they would need to say yeah  or neh

At the end of the day technically the 40KOLFT Com are the one who book the hall with BFG, BFG provide the facilites and gear, it up to 40KOLFT Com to get the money in and pay
how the won't to PAY BFG is up to them

Sorry to be akward but can we get back to the event as though I'm an accountant and money is my thing I do feel that we are wandering away from the event and getting bogged down in the grubby money side

best thing to do is as it's only 100 days to go let's have a list of those planning
once Errionds got the pack sorted we can post on the club site
then those who have said initail yeah can "Book" (and pay either in full or deposit)
later on nearer the day we can get the other stuff done
