I modelled a 1000-pt Harlequin Army from the twenty Dark Eldar guardians included in the W40K boxed set (no greenstuff).
Pictures @ http://www3.sympatico.ca/john.ogilvie/tempest/

Total cost approx. $20 CDN (~8 pounds?)

I support the punk ethic: DIY (Do It Yourself)  when it comes to conversions :)

Yeah, have fun with it.  Make some conversions.  Make lots of conversions.  Mix and match Eldar, dark eldar, and harlequin peices.  Hell, throw in a couple of peices from other races if they fit.  Other games even.  Just have some fun with it.
Why kill a man when you can make him homeless?

P.S.  I like that flip belt harlequin.  That was very inspiring, tempest.

I wouldn't even buy the boxed set.

Somewhere in your town there is someone who has bought the 40K boxed set and doesn't know what to do with the 20 Dark Eldar that come in the box  :) Maybe the local Games Workshop store has the DE sprues from some open demo boxes.

Yeah, I'm violently cheap  :)
