Help Me Identify These Hands!
« on: June 2, 2011, 10:47:25 AM »
Kiddos I'm coming to you today as this has been wracking my brain.

See these gorgeous converted plastic Poison Wind Globadiers here?

Amazing looking. And I'm stealing the whole process to make some of my own.

Issue being... I have no idea what model those hands come from! I strongly believe them to be Crypt Ghoul hands cut off at the wrist and glued onto the standard Stormvermin arm... But I am not sure, and it's wrecking my brain!

Any identification assistance?

Wow, those are nice conversions.  I think the hands might come from the Night Runner sprues.

No, Night Runner hands are far too chunky, they're the same as the old Clanrat models. I think you may be on to it with your guess of Crypt Ghouls, Mr. Black. I can't think of any other kit with those sort of spindly, grasping hands.

I think they are hands from the Vampire Counts Zombie box. They're used a lot in conversions and these look pretty much like them.

Bloodletters have those types of hands and were my first thought but then I had a look at the models (they're what I'm painting as we speak (type? :P )
The Bloodletters don't have ANY models with the fingers closed, they're all splayed apart like some of them but not all.... so no then

Crypt ghouls would be my call also, if you look closely at the left hand skaven in your last picture Mr Black you can just about see one of the scars near the wrist, very similar to most of the current ghouls models (you cannot see a match in GW's stock picture but my guess would be that arm is in the back rank here)
The Blackest Night falls from the skies,
The darkness grows as all light dies,
We crave your hearts and your demise,
By my black hand--The dead shall rise!
