Exodite questions
« on: March 8, 2017, 05:16:11 PM »
Trying to pull my finger out and get my exodite started,  so still in the planning stage right now.

What do people use as transports for exodites? Is something like a Stegadon the go to?

Cool! More exodites is always a good thing :)

I've seen people use Stegadons as they fit quite well for a tank. One chap just had dudes swinging about on top, and one guy I saw made a little (actually quite big) howdah out of a Raider chassis.

I've also thought that the Dark Elf chariots would make half-decent Venoms if you're doing Dark Eldar.

Also remember... Exodites have access to the same basic technology as CWE, DE, Corsairs etc. In the fluff it was they who ORIGINALLY developed the Wraithknight. Its just they use a lot of beasts in addition to normal Eldar tech, sort of like Dark Eldar beastpacks but on a more massive scale.

I'm sure they aren't rocking Vampire bombers and Phantom Titans... but I'd expect that they use things like Venoms, Vypers or Starweaver type vehicles etc. I think they would use creatures like Cold Ones in place of Jetbikes on terrain dense worlds, and things like Stegadons etc. perhaps as Wraithlord, Talos, Chronos level beasts of war.

Basically they dont use beasts to replace all their warmachines, they just have a more basic arsenal with beasts used to plug the gaps, or when bettered suited for various environmental reasons (like Cold Ones better suited for traversing terrains dense worlds).

but I'd expect that they use things like Venoms, Vypers or Starweaver type vehicles etc

They probably also employ a significantly higher amount of Sheep Skin rugs on the chairs than their CWE and Harlequin brethren.

But also significantly fewer human skin rugs than their Dark Eldar cousins...

Haha! I'm going to use this as the go-to descriptor for Exodites from now on ;)

made it into a GW store, the Stegadon is ALOT smaller than I imagined, roughly venom sized without the wing span. Need something bigger, more wave serpent sized.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Oliphant from LotR?
If there is anything that recent politics has taught us, it is that quotes taken out of context can mean what ever you want them to.

The War Mumak of Harad seems to fit 12 models, might work.
