Need help with DA successor Chapter Colours
« on: January 22, 2009, 11:34:33 PM »
Im still in the process of rising my marine army from the ground. For a long time I had Dark Angels in mind and I've been collecting them bit by bit. However, a close friend already has a full DA army so I wanted to make mine a bit different. I decided to make a succesor Chapter called the Archangels. I thought it was a cool name but not so long ago I found someone else using the same name :P.

Anyway, I already have the colour scheme for regular marines, which is the following:

The icon is the regular DA icon, only with red wings. And instead of having Ravenwing and Deathwing, I have a single company called the Bloodwing for both. I was planning on giving both the same colour scheme then, but I'm still not so sure what that is.

Supposedly, the original colour of the Deathwing was Black, so I was thinking of just painting both my Raven and Death wing in Black with the same shoulder pad scheme shown before.

Or maybe red armour to represent the Bloodwing a bit better.

What do you think?

If you don't mind the task, how about a half color scheme.  One of those schemes like half their bodies are split in the middle in drastic change of color.

You don't have to use a different color scheme for your death/raven/bloodwing. You can always use the same scheme you came up with for your PA marines.

I know, but I want to differentiate my army from my friend's army. And as cool as the deathwing scheme is, painting in white and bone is just a huge pain in the arse.

Keep the shoulder pad rims the same color, but make the interior surface black.
You keep the link to your regular army this way, and you link them to the standard chaplains black.
