Ulthwe Strike Force
« on: September 3, 2017, 10:59:30 PM »

6 Dark Reapers [22 PL, 216pts]
. 5x Dark Reaper: 5x Reaper Launcher
. Dark Reaper Exarch: Reaper Launcher

3 War Walkers [15 PL, 255pts]
. War Walker: Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon
. War Walker: Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon
. War Walker: Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon

++ Total: [126 PL, 1996pts] ++

The idea is that the army strikes through the Webway, and thus no tanks will fit through some of the narrower passages.
The army operates as a mobile fire base, with the Avatar providing morale and melee capability (supported by storm guardians and seer council buffs). Some Windriders offer fire support and possible.objective grabbing capability. The brunt of the firepower is provided by Dark Reapers and a few War Walkers, buffed by the Farseer for Doom and Guide. There's plenty of rending to benefit from Doom. And some wraithguard armed with D-scythes should prove to be a good distraction as well as being just a great punchy unit!

Thoughts?
Thanks!

I like it.

A few tweaks I would suggest:
1) You don't have a lot of CC units, so I'd suggest taking more conceals than enhances
2) Try and find the points for singing spears on your psykers. That's a lot of points you currently have invested in models with very low offensive output.
3) I think you've got enough high volume firepower in here, so I'd eschew the tempest launchers. -Your reapers are you best option for taking down tough multi-wound units like vehicles and MCs. Reaper launchers do this just fine.

The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit.

Thanks for the feedback! I've modified the list slightly to account for that advice.
Tactically, the army needs to be deployed in cover and behind LOS-blocking terrain, or I fear it will be eaten alive by alpha-strike lists. This can be mitigated by using Defenders to bubble-wrap the Reapers and characters. Also, the War Walker's scout move can help to both deny deep-strikers and to possibly engage the enemy on my turn 1.
I'm still thinking of other ways the list can be used effectively...
