Title: Eldar Cobra Type II Measurements
Post by: Tethesis on May 10, 2009, 04:21:20 PM
So I'm about to try and make scratch built Cobra, but I dont want it to be either too big or too small. So does anyone know this model's measurements (you know what I mean ::) )

P.S. If this is the wrong place to post this then sorry. Wasn't sure where it belonged.

Cool scratchbuilds. But I think I already found the measurements I needed. I know what are the measurements of a pilot window, so I referenced those measurements with the photo and came up with these:
(https://www.40konline.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi3.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy93%2FAsurael%2FAsurael%25202%2FCobraIIWidth.jpg&hash=4830871600b869e92cfdc2538409c73374bfa079)
(https://www.40konline.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi3.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy93%2FAsurael%2FAsurael%25202%2FCobraIILength.jpg&hash=78977e8c6fabdf839c65af1fff9bac5663ca716c)
So the Width is aprox. 5.625 inches, and the length is aprox. 10.5 inches.

I actually expected it to be larger so I'll have to review my project before I start on it.

Confirmation on these measurements would still be niche though :P.

@Ninja Tethesis!

I have a Scorpion, and since they have the same hull....
Length: 11 1/2"
Width: Hull is about 6" wide in the middle, the two 'wings' at the back are 8 1/4" wide
Height: Around 3" - 3 1/2" high on a 1" base pole, not including the optional weapon.

And for a more direct link to the one Farseer Lael provided: *CLICK* (http://warseer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2550010&postcount=224)

   Hope it helps,

   Starky :)

Chopping up two Falcons and then doing a lot of plasti-card, foam core work etc.. seams a bit much for me...

I do wish you luck, and I would love to see the Step by Step of it all; but man I think its too big of an endeavor for me..

How much is a Forgeworld one anyway. Wooh, 127 quid.. thats like $250.oo cdn... OK, maybe I will make one instead of buying it.

And on that note, add lots of step by step pics for us me to use, as well as loads of detailed descriptions, etc... Oh, and Best of Luck...

Thats the reason why I went looking for an armorcaste tempest and found one on ebay. May not look as sexy as the scorpian, but has the guns :)

Also of note maybe is that the FW stuff is slightly too small in scale. Mini pilots anyone :-)
