Title: Grey Knights 1750 (Now 1500)
Post by: Raktra (So long, I guess) on September 4, 2012, 08:21:08 PM
Basing this off what I currently have (all but the GM, Champ and the Interceptors). I have no idea how I feel about this list, just really fancied trying a mass unit of Interceptors, and the Champ is just filler.

Do me a favour when advising though guys, no Inquisitors or their buddies. I want to stick to the silver blokes.

HQ
Grand Master
Halberd
Incinerator
185

Brotherhood Champion
100

TROOPS
5 Terminators
Thawn
Halberd
Hammer
Falchions
Psycannon
Psybolts
325

5 Terminators
2x Halberd
Hammer
Banner
Psycannon
Psybolts
270

ELITES
6 Purifiers
2x Falchions
Hammer
3x Halberd
Psybolts
185

Razorback
Assault Cannon
Psybolts
85

HEAVY SUPPORT
Dreadknight
Teleporter
Heavy Incinerator
Heavy Psycannon
275

FAST ATTACK
10 Interceptors
2 Psycannons
2 Daemon Hammers
Halberd
Psybolts
325

I would always go for the D3 scoring unit trick, compensate for the lack of Troops. And in case I get asked, everything's super expensive so I didn't have to spend much.

Yeah I think the money is talking a little loud on this list. Some things I would change.

Drop the Incinerator on the master and take nades

Combine the two squads of terminators because it looks like you took a squad and split it in half to be honest

Drop the psybolts and falchions from the Purifiers and take some special weapons

Drop the Psycannon from the dreadknight

Turn the Interceptors into a strike squad

Drop the Champion...he just doesn't fit

Drop the razorback as it will just be gunned down.

Now with the remainder add more bodies!

Messed around using the same models (plus a Razorback I had spare) and knocked it down to 1500...

HQ
Librarian
Quicksilver, Might of Titan, Warp Rift, Sanctuary, Shrouding
175

Troops
10 man Strike Squad
2 Psycannons
2 Hammers
Halberd (Justicar)
245

Razorback
Assault Cannon
Psybolts
85

5 Terminators
Psycannon
Falchions
Halberd
Hammer (Justicar)
230

5 Terminators
Psycannon
Banner
2x Halberds (Justicar and buddy)
Hammer
250

Elites
6 Purifiers
2x Falchions
Hammer
3x Halberd
165

Razorback
Assault Cannon
Psybolts
85

Heavy Support
Dreadknight
Teleporter
Heavy Incinerator
235

Totals at 1470. I'm a bit frustrated at the loss of Thawn, but the only option I can see to get him back in whilst keeping close to what I have here is swapping the Libby for Crowe and dropping the Heavy Incinerator, which I'm not keen on doing.

I understand what you said about the Terminators, however I want to keep them in this format so I have the extra Justicar available to accept a challenge on my Librarian's behalf to keep him safe. The extra 30pts has me pondering, as I could take a relatively fighty Grandmaster with some nice gear, but I lose the versatility and Mastery bonus of the Librarian, and I feel as though the list is punchy enough, given the Dreadknight.

Well I will try some simple advice then as you don't seem to want to change too much.

1. Falchions are just not an option I ever consider...especial ly on purifiers who can have 2 Free heavy flamers.

2. A hammer on a justicar for termies doesn't make sense. You know he takes the challenges so why not give him the halberd and toss the hammer on another guy?

3. If you want to spend those 30 points just go for the great sword on the DK and call it a day. I mean you already gave him the other cool options make him a total boss and spend the last 25.

4. If you want to get another cool option drop all the stuff I said and take off the hammers on the strike squad to add a psyker inquisitor so the strike squad can really add some pain.

5. The last idea is the No-No as discussed earlier. You could combine the terminators in order to get pysbolt ammo for the price of one squad and then combat squad the guys. The question is would you rather have 1 more justicar or a lot of str 5 shots. Challenges occur maybe 2 times a game while str 5 is all game. Just saying this is a decent list but it just needs a little tweaking depending on what you like.

The Incinerator is a consideration for the GM, you'll think twice about assaulting him! But grenades are good too.

You save on PsyBolts for 10 GKT if you get a squad of 10 rather than 2x5 other than that it doesn't matter.

Psybolts are good for a ten man squad, Falcions are good but pricey.

The Incinerator is best for the DreadKnight, way better than the Hvy PsyCan!

I wouldn't drop the Interceptors for the GKSS at all

The Champion is best w purifiers or GKT rolling out of an assault vehicle.

Razorback (PsyBack) is a good lil unit but all on its lonesome not so good.

Rex you need to read more as he has moved on since that list.
