Title: Who can be my Warlord?
Post by: Plastikente on June 19, 2013, 12:49:46 PM
I just noticed something in our Codex, p.32 Warlord Traits:
Quote
On the field of battle, a Tau force can be led by a Commander or by an Ethereal... When generating Warlord traits, a Commander or Ethereal may either...
I can't find reference to it anywhere else (like the long unit descriptions, or the army list entries), but this seems to suggest that you cannot take either a Fireblade or Darkstrider as your only HQ, which means that they cannot be your Warlord as an Ethereal/Commander will have a higher Ld.

Am I making a mistake here?

That was actually was the subject of a errata.  link (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3170231a_Tau_Empire_v1.0_APRIL13.pdf)

Page 32 - Warlord Traits
Replace the introductory paragraph with:
When generating Warlord Traits, a Tau Warlord may either roll
on one of the Warlord Traits tables in the Warhammer 40,000
rulebook, or roll on the table presented on the right.

I hadn't seen that that had been updated since the codex release.  That's a relief!
