HQ choice
« on: March 7, 2003, 08:14:21 PM »
Reading the rules, I was thinking about how you can have a really tooled up HQ.

Example

Canoness w/ armoury weapon
Celestian w/ heavy bolter/ h. flamer/multimelta
Celestian w/ flamer/ meltagun
Banner Bearer w/ armoury weapon
Imagifier w/ armoury weapon
Sister Hospitaller w/ armoury weapon
Sister Famulous w/ armoury weapon
Veteran Sister w/ armoury weapon
Sister of the Order Dialogos w/ armoury weapon
Preacher/Confessor/Missionary w/ armoury weapon

Is this legal or have I got something really wrong.

Yeh, this has been pointed out many-a-time.  The only problem is that a. it cost a lot of points b. it costs a lot of time to convert and c. they're very fragile.  They still all have a T3 and just power armor.  That's a lot of points to spend on a T3 SMurf...
A word to the wise is useless.  It's the stupid ones that need the advice!

Oh well, yeah I knew thered have to be something wrong with it ...Yhwh-condemnedit Rolled.... Its still pretty damn cool that you get the Banner Bearer and so on upgrades for free though.
BTW, for people converting SoB minis, ShadowForge makes female models exclusively. They even have a line of nuns. Thats allowed on the forum right?

Important parts of a squad is always

1. Dealers of Damage

Those who dish out the damage.
Those can include characters with various weapons, special gunners and heavy gunners.

2. Absorbers of Abuse.

Those who take the damage so that your Dealers of Damage don't take any damage in return.

Depending on how big the guns are on the Dealers of Damage section and how tough the Absorbers of Abuse are and what kind of roles they're supposed to fulfill the the ratios can vary immensly.
Everything from Cannonfodder Grots where you at max put some equipment on the Slaver....and there are 30 grots....to Standoff Broadsides, Obliterators who are pretty tough themselves and really don't need no AoAs.

When it comes to sisters it varies between a 5-1 or higher for front line Reds to 2-1 for Retributors or Suicide Flamer squads.
Not even in a HQ should you have more characters and special gunners than you have regular celestines.
Deathball, the new game of bloody basketball, 40k style!

+++Excerpt from Last Chaos/Space marine game, commentator: Inquisitor Khalheed "The Purgator" Qhor, Ex-Deathball player+++

Chaos vs Space Marine grudgematch today ended 23-19 when Brother Grazieel decimated the chaos team with a heavy bolter.

Afterwards the Chaos Coach Zhuriel the Damned stated "If we weren't ideologically in favor of cheating we'd complain about this""
