I've removed the post on the same subject from the other topic, as crossposting is against the forum rules.

The new picture and the teaser of the weapons looks very promising.  While I have never really been that interested in High Elves, I have always liked Teclis because of his magical prowess.  I will be very interested to see what the final model looks like.  I am sure that it will be more dynamic than previous incarnations.

I agree, though I've always loved the High Elves and their lore. I too cannot wait for this model to be unveiled. I literally cannot wait to see what's around the corner for the Asur of Hysh!

Yeah, this reveal is going to make a big difference on what my second AoS army is going to be.

Wouldn't it be your third army ;)?

Disciples of Tzeentch's new tome make Tzeentch Daemons quite good now!

Well, I don't really count my Dark Elves, since they weren't built with AoS in mind.

But Cities of Sigmar is very tempting.

I imagine Dark Elves maybe wrapped up with the Malerion faction when they get their release at some point. I guess we'll know when the High Elves are revealed.

I look forward to getting them back. It feels weird having these other elven factions that's sort-of-derived from the high elves around without having the OGs, imho. Although I fully expect them to ludicrously overdesigned as is the AoS norm. Still, serrated pseudo-phalaxes of gleaming not-Noldor does awaken fond memories. (well, I've got Warhammer Total War to tide me over, so not so distant memories, but I'm interested in what they've got cooking for physical sculpts).

I'm always down for a new Aelef faction to come out. I wonder what the models will look like. There was some hints in the deepkin battletome about the Hyshian Aelves.

Apparently there is a Sons of Behemot faction coming out soon too, so that'll be cool to see. A Gargant army. Hopefully there is a teaser of that tonight as well.

Reveals for AoS:

So, those Lumineth Realm-Lords, I am loving them and will be investing in them. Seeing as how I'll be selling my Sylvaneth (whole other topic...) I'm going to start small (try to lol) with these guys when they release and see how I like them.

I love each of these units, they look great. The ONLY thing that kind of sticks out as wierd to me is honestly... Teclis himself. The Mount is gorgeous! But something just looks off about Teclis. I wish they gave him the Eidolon-Leaping-through-the-air pose rather than the weird one they've chosen.

I don't know, I'll have to look at the actual model when it releases. Loving his cape though!

I’m blown away, again.  The miniatures GW pumps out these days are stunning.  I think what I like most about these guys is, they’re still just ‘high elves’...just massively improved looking high elves.  Simple straight forward fantasy troops; spearman, horse riding cavalry and a wizard.  With all the wackier stuff AoS has in it now, that’s actually kind of refreshing and will be a good contrast.  Bonus points if they get their repeater bolt throwers and chariots back!

Amen to that.

The model that is a hollow suit of armour is my favourite, closely followed by the terrain piece.

I have to agree with Myen'Tal about the Teclis model though as Teclis doesn’t appear to be the focus of the diorama.

Yeah, they made him really off-center, when they should have gave him the flying pose that he has in the art, off the back of his sphinx.

The Sphinx itself is really awesome! And I think Teclis' face looks a little strange... because of how GW painted it lol. They kind of did the same thing with Sisters of Battle without the helmets on. Should look better once we tackle it ourselves ;D.

@ Alienscar and Myen’Tal

Agreed.  He’s both off center and the pose isn’t the best either.  Plus, he’s got a shovel face thing going  on.

...and when I look at his pants, I hear Can’t Touch This playing in my head...

I agree that Teclis looks weird, but I never liked his model anyway (nor his fluff) and the odds of me taking him were slim regardless. The rest of those models, though, are beautiful indeed! They need a little more variety I think (I'd like some generic heroes, some generic monsters, a chariot, etc.), but it all looks very promising.

Oh I think we're definitely getting a Idoneth-scale-if-not-larger release! Just like the Bonereapers, which underwent event previews for quite a few months before their release because of the size of their range.

I think it maybe a similar case for the Lumineth Realm-Lords (Gods, that name is an absolute mouthful :P... kind of like pointy ears better lol).

oh hell yes, that's a freaking awesome model

I don't mind the pose for Teclis, it would look better if he was by himself, the BIG problem is the giant thing on his head, its just too impractical and looks dumb. The mount looks awesome but for the head, a straight up mythical beast would have looked better. As is big swing big miss for me.

The spearmen look great, I'm expecting to see a lot of custom dire averngers hit the web real soon :)

soo want to stick the horsemans banner on the back of an exarchs shinning spears bike..

But yeah those spearmen and Cavalry look amazing, loving the colour scheme too.

Eltharion.. soo freaking cool.

Well, I was right about them sticking to the increased horizontality that's become typical of AoS, and the increased level of details. There's no denying that they look good though - and I love the hollow armor and the Sphinx in particular.

The armor detailing actually REALLY reminds me some Rackham figures from back in the day:

The sculpt is a lot more advanced of course, but the whirly elevated edges and details struck a chord.

I will admit that I somewhat miss some straight-up pointy helmets a-la classic spearmen or silver helms for that clean, straight-backed look, but I suppose those days are gone.

It's still a valuable IP I guess, lol. But jokes aside, I am quite pleased to hear that, though given the long waiting time I'm keeping my expectations fairly low - I'm not sure it will entail much beyond just a limited "print on demand" miniature range or maybe just some prepackaged battalions or something. Staying sober on this one.
