The only Tyranid Invulnerable saves are in the Tyranid Monstrous Creature Design Rules (usually referred to as CDR) in Chapter Approved 2002. The improved version of Warp Field grants an invulnerable save. Keep in mind that the rules are with opponents' permission only.

And even then you've gotta make one - unless you count your hive tyrant as one... hmm...

rrr... my opponent has a hive tyrant and carnifex he likes to add extended carapiece... he calls it a 2+ invulnerable save, is this true? or does he have to pay extra for something else...

we just learned "shoot the big ones" rule so i can target his stuff, he used to think that without tyrant guard hive tyrant is indep. character, in which case i couldn't shoot it unless i killed troops or drew him away with a distraction

No, that's not true.  The Tyrants save is just a normal 2+ save - there is no Tyranid in the codex that gets an invulnerable save.
The Tyranids are the most rapidly evolving race in the galaxy.  They are super-predators destined to hunt all others to extinction.

Even more there is only one unit with a 2+ invuln and thats unstable as is. Smack your friend upside the head abit and target his hive tyrant with some lascannons right proper!
