My Death Guard Paint-Scheme
« on: November 30, 2008, 01:27:01 PM »
Hey y'all, I went home for Thanksgiving break and finally had time to paint!

I decided to try out a scheme for my death guard, and ended up with this. It's painted on a regular CSM, but I think I'll convert him into a Plague Champion or something.

I would really appreciate it if you guys give me advice/criticism on my painting abilities. I'm nowhere near an accomplished veteran, and this was my first time working on layering/blending/and highliting. As such, I'd like to know what I can do better.

Also, I apologize for the lighting... and that this model isn't finished. I had to go back to school and this is as far as I got. Still, I don't know why I wasn't painting the feet... oh well!

Well, there you have it. Let me know what you think! (Also, please let me know if the images are too large.)

Very nice. Clean and crisp, with a retro feel to it.

Pre Heresy kudos to you :)

Thanks! I was really going for that- a sort of Chaosey pre-heresy blend. As if the death guard were still using their old armor.

I like the look but doesn't scream Death Guard to me but if you are going for the "just turned" look it works.

It took me I think about 4-5 hours. Problem is that this was my first time working on highlights and blending, so I probably spent a lot more time than I needed to. Also, I had to play around to come up with the right paint mixtures.

well, I am! haha. I just wanted to try something different than the typical Death Guard look. And when I paint my actual Death Guard models, there should be some more Nurgle-y things to paint over.

heh- "just turned do you say Pittman? that is the Death Guard's pre-heresy color scheme.

I like the whites on the model. Very nicely done, with clean lines.
