Blast from the Past
« on: November 24, 2017, 12:24:21 AM »
Here's an old 1500pt list from the 'old' days of Craftworld Eldar:

Seer Council
2 Farseers - Fortune, Mindwar, Witchblade, Singing
  Spear
4 Warlocks - Enhance, Augment, destructor, embolden

20 Black Guardians Defenders
1 Warlock - Conceal
1 Starcannon

16 Black Guardians Storm - 2 Fusion guns
1 Warlock - Enhance, Singing Spear

16 Defender guardians
1 Warlock - Conceal
1 Brightlance

5 Howling Banshees
1 Exarch - Executioner

1 Falcon - Targeting Matrix - Starcannon

1 Wraithlord - Starcannon

6 Jetbikes - 2 Shuriken catapults

All up, the cost of the old list in new money is about 1400pts; One Battalion detachment. (I lumped all 7 Warlocks together as a Warlock Conclave).

Ah man, old Destructor. Now THOSE were the days. You could run a squad of Storm Guardians with 2 flamers, joined by a Warlock with Destructor as the "Tri Template Squad" heh.

I'd consider running this list like this:

Battalion
Farseer - Will of Asuryan, Fortune
Farseer - Guide, Doom
20 Guardians + 2 Starcannon Platforms (since we can now take 2)
16 Storm Guardians + 2 Fusion Guns
16 Guardians + 1 Bright Lance Platform
6 Howling Banshees, 1 is Exarch with Executioner
Falcon with Starcannon, CTM
Wraithlord with Starcannon
6 Jetbikes, 2 with Shuriken Cannons, 4 with Twin Catapults

Supreme Command
Warlock - Conceal/Reveal
Warlock - Embolden/Horrify
Warlock - Protect/Jinx
Warlock - Protect/Jinx

Supreme Command
Warlock - Quicken/Restrain
Warlock - Enhance/Drain
Warlock - Empower/Ennervate

Running the Warlocks as individuals will let you cast more powers and earn CP from Supcom detachments. On the big guardian squads a couple well-placed spells could make the difference; 20 Guardians and 2 Starcannons could be making very strong invulnerable saves with Jinx and Celestial Shield, and shooting very accurately with the Ulthwe Craftworld Stratagem.

This list isn't that far from being good right now, actually. Keeping all those Guardians from fleeing without an Avatar will be tricky but if you can nail Will of Asuryan every turn, and make careful use of the Warlock defensive spells, it seems like it could be done.
