Thinking of getting a shaman for my Gitz. Question is which kind.
The Fungoid seems to be the no brainer: more durable, better fighter, and possibility to crank extra command points every turn.
However, the Madcap's unique spell--Nightshroud--is really good, especially against Overlords and all that shooting. They *also* get access to actual artifacts, among which the Moonface Poppet seems particularly handy.
Thoughts?

Hmm, honestly, I think I'd go with the Madcap Shaman. I think the Fungoid is definitely a solid choice, but being able to debuff an opponents hits and then debuff their saves is really good.
The Fungoid can stick around longer with his wound negation, but he's still pretty fragile. A unit of Namarti Reavers can blow him off the board in one turn (Experience!).
I'd choose the Madcap.

I like the madcap, as he can cast two spells once per game. If you're playing in the realms, or have endless spells, this can be very good.

I’m having the exact same thought Wyddr. The Fungoid seems like the better choice but the madcap has some versatility with artefacts going for him.
I recently acquired the madcap shaman from battle for skull pass. And I intend to try both of them out to compare. Although truth is, I’d probably take both. ;D

Of note, the Fungoid can do this too, but without the risk of poisoning himself!
