I'm trying to theme a Hive Fleet, all my own little monster breeds. The idea I was going with was Poison and close combat. Therefore I gave everything Toxin Sacs and a few others Bio-Plasma attacks. Well, I'll put the whole list down here:
Hive Tyrant [74]
Bio-Plasma [+10]
Psychic Scream [+15]
Scything Talons x2 [+16]
Winged [+40]
Adrenal Glands (WS) [+4]
Toxin Sacs [+8]
Adrenal Glands (I) [+4]
total: 171
Warriors [14]
Bio-Plasma [+6]
Flesh Hooks [+1]
Scything Talons [+2]
Rending Claws [+6]
Adrenal Glands (WS) [+2]
Toxin Sacs [+3]
Adrenal Glands (I) [+1]
total: 35
Gaunts [4]
Scything Talons [+2]
Flesh Hooks [+1]
Leaping [+3]
Adrenal Glands (WS) [+1]
Toxin Sacs [+2]
Adrenal Glands (I) [+1]
total: 14
Carnifex [70]
Scything Talons x2 [+16]
Flesh Hooks [+2]
Bio-Plasma [+15]
Adrenal Glands (WS) [+4]
Toxin Sacs [+6]
total: 113
Furthermore, here's my actual species list for the Hive
Tyrant
Warriors
'Stealers
Gaunts
Ravener
Zoanthropes
Biovore
Carnifex
And for the Genofixed I'm limiting myself to specific upgrades
Raveners [35]
Scything Talons [+4]
Rending Claws [+6]
total: 45
Zoanthropes [34]
Either Psychic Scream and/or Synapse, depending [+15/10]
total: 49/44
The 'Stealers I plan to leave bare.
And for Biovores, only poison mines, or -maybe- in the big games the occaisional acid mine.
Anyway, tips on this, along with advice would be nice. I would -like- to keep it very fluffy, though obviously I don't want to lose all my games for the sake of fluff ;)
I have been considering another kind of Warrior squad, a longer ranged one that uses Venom cannons, and would thus be Heavy Support.
Anywho, thanks for reading and for the help! 8)

Of course, you do realise that you will need to sacrifice the use of your Zoanthroapes to use your proposed Warrior squad. Your guants also possess too much biomorphs. Your Carnifex should have either a venom cannon or a barbed strangler. Sure, it's a killer in hth, but so much fire is going to be concentrated on the Carnifex and will be cut down before it gets into close combat.
Right, apart from that, there seems to be almost no problem with your army list. However, how much models does each squad possess? Are you using mutants for your units?
Happy Trails.

Your gaunts cost WAY too much. Tyranids are meant to be in swarms. Not like space marines. Infact those gaunts cost as much as a Spacemoron and would probably lose to one Hth. You need to rethink your amount of biomorphs.

yes handy gaunts should be less than 10 and shooty gaunts should be less then 7
