Story Behind Custom Titles
« on: July 3, 2008, 01:32:12 PM »
I would like to see people who have custom titles post here and tell us the story behind the title.  Mods who gave the titles could contribute as well.  I've begun a list with links to the explanations.

The first two pages of this thread are on topic, but most of what follows is a bunch of nonsense so clicking the links below will help you find info about the titles without wading through the voluminous vapid spam.  Each time someone adds a new comment about their title I'll throw in the link.  If you don't want your name or the explanation on the list tell me and I'll remove it.

I'll keep adding others.

Read the story behind custom titles and tell us about yours.

"Marines are Toughness 3!" According to Chuckles, it was an account of Copyright, with lots of Spam, and Ramsus just got creative. No real explanation with it, as I don't think I got many rules wrong before I was given this...

Mine has two sources:

1.  Commenting in the Custom Title thread that previously I had a title but it had disappeared (Missing: a title)

AND

2.  An argument over the proper use of smilies with another member who was failing at being humourous (Missing: smilies).

Though I don't know for certain, I suspect that Doktor Rummy is the mod who stuck it to me. 8)

Mine simply appeared one day, obviously by magic. I like it, because it is not the other ones. I did not like the other ones.

One of the nicknames of my likeness is the "Ace of Knaves", which I thought was a bit lame for a killer clown, so I had it changed to the one I'm sporting now.

I caught a rat in this machine. Then another, and another. I weeded out nests of scammers, spammers and flamers, and threw them all out, making sure they slammed into the wall when they tried getting back in.
Thus the "The Ratcatcher" was a suitable title.

Lost Roads - finally released!

I think mine are fairly self-explanatory, but I'll clarify anyways:
He who begged to be a Moderator - I had a, uh, slight habit of asking for modship during my early days when the site was still EldarOnline
Commissar - I used to be a very active posted in the IG board and part of the CoC there.
Official 40kO Sucker - An in-joke that arose out of a conversation with some other staff members. The exact details escape me.

Mine is simply left over from when I was involved in the Eldar boards, Aspect Warrior being a "ranking" in terms of contribution. Obviously it's outdated as I no longer collect, and thus cannot contribute without being an edition out of date! Plus I don't think I was ever that good anyway...

No, no, no, do ask. Without knowing the details, I can say that Hymirl and Ghaz were constantly at odd in the Forum Rules, and I mean, 'constantly'.

They sooo like each other, very like an old couple.
